PGA Tour Highlights: 2026 FedEx St. Jude Championship, Final Round

Video Transcript

One final day here in Memphis, pyramid high above the Mississippi River, about a half-hour from where we are.

TPC Southwind, maybe the warmest day of the week weather-wise, and that's saying something this week.

So triple digits no doubt this afternoon at some point.

Heat index already 105 here.

One last chance for a lot of players to make it to next week, get into the top 50.

So right now it's 93, feels like 104.

That's gonna increase, maybe peak about 4:00 local time, but sunshine and blue skies.

Scottie Scheffler, the leader, up by two.

Opportunity to get off to a fantastic start here, just a lob wedge.

So that number 53 in the FedEx Cup race, gotta be in the top 50 to move on.

And he loves to win, so I expect Scheffler to play well.

Speed.

On the way with that start.

Been a rough week for McIlroy, working his way back.

Definitely a ton of rust on his game coming here, here this week.

Beautiful pitch shot here at the last hole for him, but he had three weeks off after the open.

Now jump to the ninth, Bud Cauley at three under.

Not anymore.

Moments ago at the 11th.

Par three difficult all week.

Draw from the bunker, making it look easy.

Saw what Ricky did.

That's a nine-iron on the way, and this is a great-looking line.

Great line, great result.

Another good look.

Boy, it's a great look.

And he does.

This much loft.

Got the pitches right at the top of the bank.

Oh, well judged there.

Oh, gorgeous shot.

Oh.

Projected sixth right now.

He won it all at the end last year at East Lake, and here he is sixth.

Maybe gonna get better.

That's a birdie.

Sam Burns with his third.

Six iron, 192.

It's got his attention.

Oh, no.

Dottie, that wasn't even close.

Just a step inside 80 yards.

This is left.

I mentioned made double bogey here Friday.

The only other two mistakes he has made this week were bogeys at 18.

Oh, no.

That was a sprinkler head.

Get down.

Get down.

No way.

And that falls into the water.

That is unbelievable.

That is one of the worst breaks I've seen all year.

My goodness, watch this.

Right off the head, and the head is angled away from him, so it picks up even more speed.

What just happened?

I mean, it l- obviously if it misses the sprinkler head, I think it's gonna be a tap in.

Yeah.

I mean, let's take a look at the strike.

It's come out nice and high and soft.

He did his job.

The ground did not.

Exactly.

He has not made a double bogey on a par five since last year's RBC Heritage.

It's just been a pretty sloppy hole so far.

Missed it well left off the tee, found the water with his third, and a misread there.

Tell you what, if he comes up just short this week, he's gonna look at this hole right here.

I mean, that's his second double bogey of the week at the par five.

Meanwhile, Hideki's at the sixth.

He's been playing some great golf as of late.

Has done everything but win.

This from 131, and how about that bounce right there?

Oh.

Tiger was second.

At the sixth.

Fleetwood trying to attack this back left hole location.

Oh, yeah.

All over it.

Hideki almost hooped it.

Tommy throws a dart in there.

Contact sounded very good.

Starts at the center.

Good adjustment.

Really good adjustment.

That was worth the wait, Frank.

Certainly was.

Yeah, time to take advantage of everything that has happened in front of him.

And doesn't hesitate.

Had to pitch out.

Just under 100 yards.

Pretty well done there.

To eight.

Third place, Fleetwood now.

Trying to force it back.

This hole has been gettable today.

Oh, nice.

Friendly kick.

In Memphis, and our leader, Scottie Scheffler, for birdie.

Enough tilt from the right side to make this go a touch left.

Just curls in that right side.

That's a huge birdie from Scheffler.

All right, Johnson, he's gotta get it going.

Coming straight down.

And he did.

The 16th, Maverick McNealy.

Pretty straightforward bunker shot right here.

Almost holes it.

51st.

In 19 rounds here at this golf course, has never birdied this 18th hole, Jim, and he needs one now.

Oh, hold up.

Oh, it just does.

Gotta go.

Set again.

Please set.

Not this time.

Hands low, face wide open.

Deft touch required.

Yeah, his bunker play's been superb all week.

But now, Jake now.

Mentioned to me he's loving the work and the golf swing, and this is a beautiful eight-iron.

Oh, and a beautiful result right there.

He got off to such a great start this season.

The many bunkers surround this par three green.

See how dry this green is.

Aided in the right, so excellent shot.

So he's projected as fifth.

Probably guaranteed to Atlanta.

Had a great season.

Where did that go?

Oh.

Back into the breeze.

Uh-oh.

Uh-oh.

That didn't sound right, Frank.

I think that's a case of the El Hosel.

Well, he's looking at that left hand, too.

Didn't seem that long ago, 2011, he burst out.

What a season that was.

To stay in the playoffs.

Gotta give it more speed than that.

What a time to leave it short.

Oh.

Oh.

Oh, yeah.

Now at 14, there's already been nine balls in the water here.

Gotta be careful if it goes right.

Go.

Especially Oh, look at that.

It didn't go right.

It went right at it.

Trophy yet.

Yes.

Take this thing shot by shot.

Now, this will move right when it hits the ground.

And that is a touch of class right there, Dottie.

18, Matt Fitzpatrick.

Coming off of bogey at 17.

Oh, boy.

This is going left.

Sungjae.

Downwind from the apron, cut hard to get to this front flag with a wedge.

He's hunting, though.

Oh, boy, Mark.

Geez.

Wasn't too difficult for Sungjae.

Finger kind of float.

Down three.

Did he do it again?

Oh, he did.

Portion to this right flag, just a few paces off the right-hand edge.

He's pretty aggressive.

Well played.

That's gap wedge for Scheffler.

117, covers directly at that dangerous flag.

Another high-quality shot exactly where he would've been looking.

16, Si Woo with his fourth.

Judged that one nicely.

He's gonna get out of there with a par.

If you remember, he won the Nelson last year by eight.

Get it.

16.

Scottie for another birdie.

A little lack of confidence.

Around the greens hasn't been his strength for the season, but that's a solid four.

Five yards closer.

Starts at the center of the green, now cutting.

Oh, that's great.

Just gets a little kick forward.

Up on the green, Si Woo.

This could be huge for him.

Fourth in the standings overall.

That looks so good.

He thought it had to keep tracking, breaking left.

Yep, he's so consistent.

17.

Si Woo.

Once again, hole high, Scheffler.

So close.

Long.

171, eight iron.

Oh, another good one.

And another iron shot in there to about- In the hole.

Yeah.

Come on, now.

Oh.

Domination.

Scottie Scheffler runs away from the field in Memphis.
