Players To Average A Triple-Double
Only 3 NBA players have average a triple-double for the entire season. Can you name them all?

Players these days make a triple-double look routine, but there's only three players in NBA history to ever do it for a full season.
Let's start with the first player to do it, The Big O, Oscar Robertson, in the 1961 to 1962 season, which was also just his second year in the league.
Dubbed the OG stat sheet stuffer, Robertson averaged 30 points, 11 assists, and 12 rebounds for the Bucs while playing 79 games.
Of those games, Robertson finished 41 games with a triple-double, had two games where he dished out more than 20 assists, and had five games with at least 20 rebounds.
The Big O could only do the rare feat once, though.
The other two guys on this list have done it multiple times in their career, and what's insane is that both of them are still in the NBA.
One of those two hoopers is Russell Westbrook.
When you play with that much passion and energy every game, you're bound to get triple-doubles, and Russ has a lot of them.
For his career, Russ finished the season averaging a triple-double four times.
The first time he averaged a triple-double was in the 2016 to 2017 season as a member of the OKC Thunder.
He finished that season averaging 31.6 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 10.4 assists, while missing just one game the entire season.
Of those 81 games, Russ finished 42 of them with a triple-double and was named league MVP.
In the following four seasons, Russ averaged a triple-double in three out of those four seasons.
In the 2017 to 2018 season, Russ averaged 25.4 points, 10.3 assists, and 10.1 rebounds playing 80 games.
In the 2018 to 2019 season, he averaged 22.9 points, 10.7 assists, and 11.1 rebounds playing 73 games.
He had his triple-double streak broken in the 2019 to 2020 season, mostly because he had to share triple-doubles with James Harden in Houston.
But once he got traded to the Wizards, Russ averaged a triple-double again, averaging 22.7 points, 11.7 assists, and 11.5 rebounds playing 65 games.
The last player to average a triple-double for a season is Nikola Jokic.
Like Russ, once the Joker finished one season averaging a triple-double, he just couldn't stop.
In the past two seasons, Jokic has finished the season averaging a triple-double.
He averaged 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 10.2 assists playing 70 games in the 2024 to 2025 season.
Then in the 2025 to 2026 season, Jokic averaged 27.7 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 10.7 assists playing 65 games.
His streak isn't as long as Westbrook's, for now at least, but given how much he has to do each game for the Nuggets to win, don't be surprised to see him do it again next season, and the season after that, and the season after that.
