PSG Too Much for Villa to Handle - UEFA Supercup Final Review
Aston Villa gave a good account of themselves in the final of the UEFA Supercup on Wednesday night, but fell just short in the end against reigning European champions Paris Saint-Germain. Here's our full, in-depth review of last night's contest and what it means for the seasons of both clubs.

Before the Premier League kicks off, before the Carabao Cup kicks off for the Premier League sides, before even the Community Shield, the first Premier League side to play in a competitive fixture this season is none other than Aston Villa.
They took on Paris Saint-Germain, the reigning French champions, the reigning European champions, and the defending holders of the UEFA Super Cup from last season.
This match took place over in Salzburg, over in Austria, but could we get a surprise result here?
Could Villa manage to get another European trophy under Unai Emery?
Well, if you know the results of this game, you'll know the answer to that question sadly is no.
But they gave it a good go, it's fair to be said.
They did not get humiliated here by any stretch of the imagination.
This was not like Tottenham Hotspur last season, where they very much took defeat from the jaws of victory.
PSG, for the majority of this game, were the side that were marginally on top.
They had more of the ball, they had more good chances, and they took them as well.
Khvicha, Khvicha, Kvicha, I don't know how to say his name, the Georgian winger himself got the opening goal of the game 20 minutes in.
Madueke, he ended up equalizing just before halftime, and then it was that man, Dsir Dou.
Is he heading over to Liverpool?
Is he heading over to Arsenal this summer?
We're not quite sure on that, but right now he ended up banging in the goal to win the cup yet again for Les Bleus.
They've won two Champions Leagues in a row.
They've won two Super Cups in a row.
They win league on every single season.
PSG right now are a real powerhouse of European football.
I said it after they won their Champions League for the first time a couple of seasons ago.
I said it, "Are we gonna be entering the PSG era now?"
And I thought very much that was going to happen because their squad is full of young, exciting talent.
They're making use of that football factory over in the French capital, one of the most productive regions in the world when it comes to producing top-class footballers.
They have no real competition domestically for league ons.
That means they can put all of their efforts over into things like this, to the European competitions.
And yeah, Villa did have, very much have opportunities.
They could have won this on another day.
They could have took it to penalties on a, another day.
Donnarumma in goal for PSG, he made some good saves.
Villa, though, they were wasteful at times.
Let's not get away from that.
I'm sure that will disappoint some Villa fans.
But they made a good account for themselves, basically.
They play it well overall against arguably, probably right now you have to say, the best team in the world.
I mean, if you won the Champions League twice in a row, got to the Club World Cup final, won the Super Cup twice in a row, you win your domestic league every season, you usually win your domestic cup every season as well, you're probably the best team in the world at that point.
You know, who's better than PSG right now?
On paper you might say maybe Arsenal on their day, maybe Real Madrid on their day, but they are back-to-back European champions for very good reasons, and they showed why.
They didn't play their best, but they still found a way to win when it matters.

How long can they keep a hold of him?
Some of those new signings looked pretty good as well, Madueke being one of them, of course.
One thing I would question, though, is Emi Martnez.
Why was he not available?
Was he just given a rest by Unai Emery 'cause obviously he went deep into the tournament in the World Cup with Argentina?
