Do we have breaking news?

Nope.

Is that- Oh.

Oh, what do we got?

Oh.

The Trent McDuffie trade.

This was rumored.

This is, this is rumored, and if you pay attention to the news, and you can look this up, Les Snead made a little comment about this yesterday.

"I'd like to add an all-pro-" " to my secondary."

And everybody And I had had a little birdie that got in my ear about this a little at the combine, because they went, "Wait," you know, "we talked about at the end of the year, the Rams need secondary players.

They can't play man to man," right?

That was our complaint about the Rams.

Right.

They can't play man to man.

Well, Trent McDuffie, all he does is play man to man, and the guy that coaches the sim- the secondary with the Los Angeles Rams, ding, ding, ding, is Jimmy Lake, who coached him at Washington.

So there's a connection there.

Jimmy, I've known Jimmy 'cause he coached down in Tampa Bay when I was there too.

He's highly regarded.

So, yes.

Yeah.

So with all that, that's what makes sense.

That's big news right there.

It's a whopper of a trade- And, well- when you hear this oh, a- and, and, well, you and you, you gotta pay him, and I think that's why Kansas City's looking at it going, "Wait, we gotta retool our team here, and you know, we wanna keep Kelce for one more year."

Right.

"We still got, you know, Mahomes and Chris Jones," and all of that, and they're probably looking at it like, "We can't pay a corner..." Trent McDuffie's going to command top of the market type money at the corner position.

He's going to be one of the two or three highest paid guys in the sport, and he's worthy of that, accomplishment.

So- Go ahead, let me hear it McDuffie, 25 years old.

You don't see a lot of 25-year-olds that have had the success- Sh- that he has- Shocking get traded.

He's 25.

The return on this one is the Rams' first rounder this year.

Mm-hmm.

That's the 29th pick in the draft.

Yeah.

Not the Falcons' first rounder.

Gotcha.

Gotcha.

So the 29th pick in the draft, that's a big return.

That tells me the Rams are gonna be out of the quarterback conversation.

They're, may- maybe.

We'll see.

We'll see.

I don't know if it matters.

At 13.

I Yeah, you're right.

They're saying.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

I, I agree with you- Right the whole way on that.

Right, right.

Their fifth and sixth rounders this year, and then in 2027, a third.

So four draft picks.

Four draft picks.

Four draft picks.

Hey, he's an all-pro corner.

Right.

He can do it all.

He can play zone, he's a lockdown man to man outside corner, and he's rare in that he can play in the slot almost every bit as good.

He's, he's a phenomenal football player.

That's big for the, for the Kansas City Chiefs.

You know, the Chiefs- It's a haul the Chiefs are, yeah, huge for them.

They're $8 million over the salary cap right now, so they're looking at it going, "Wait, we, we, we can't pay this guy $30 million a year at corner.

We can't do it, and we got some other holes on our team that we gotta fix and figure out."

Like Ch- like Chris Simms just said, we need some defensive linemen and some front- Right seven guys that can make a play or do something that way.

But man, yeah, that's a big move for the Rams.

And we've talked about this too just before, I know we gotta go to break, but it's odd we're in a year here where we have so many playoff teams or teams at the top of the league who actually have cap space.

The Rams having top 10 and space is crazy.

Yep.

Right?

Yep.

You know, the Steelers in the playoffs, top 10 in space.

The Seahawks, number six.

Seahawks one's crazy.

Right.

The Chargers, imagine.

The Chargers being number one.

Yeah.

I mean, so yeah, that's rare that you see teams that good to have that kind of flexibility with their, their spending.

The massive trade, it's gonna make talking about the Chiefs for the draft a lot of fun.

Yes, it is.

Because now they have two different- So now they have pick, what, 9 and 29?

29.

Oof.

Right.

Yeah, they'll be able to make some moves here.

They could do some, do some serious damage.

Yes.

So a massive, massive trade-
