Rate Field Has Become a Major Weapon for the White Sox
Success at home has become one of the biggest reasons the Chicago White Sox find themselves in first place entering the middle of June.

Look, every playoff team, needs a little bit of a superpower.
You have to have something that you do specifically well in order to survive the rigors of a one hundred and sixty-two game season, and for the 2026 White Sox, it's playing at home.
If the White Sox weren't already fun enough, there's an added layer of excitement around this team because of what they've done at Rate Field this season.
The White Sox are currently thirty-seven and thirty-one, but they are nineteen and three over their last twenty-two home games.
That brings them to twenty-three and eleven at home this season, and they've struggled away from Chicago with a fourteen and twenty record.
It all comes back to the pitching staff.
The pitching was my main concern for this team before the season.
It's my main concern now.
If there's something that's going to keep the White Sox from making the playoffs, it is the pitching.
They've gone on hot streaks and been one of the best teams in baseball when the pitching gives them quality performances, and the pitching does that when they play in Chicago.
it shouldn't be a shock that this team has a home ERA of three point two nine this season.
That's the fourth bet-- best mark in baseball.
But on the road, it is five point three zero.
That is a stark contrast.
That is the third worst ERA in baseball on the road.
Someone like Anthony K, prime example here, five and O with a three oh eight at home, one and one with a six oh four on the road.
But of course, playing well at home also has a bit of a domino effect.
Every game the Sox play, while they play well, it gains more and more, fan support.
That fan support puts more energy in the ballpark, which helps fuel more White Sox victories.
and I-- it just really feels like this team is, is compounding and having this domino effect of rolling over good performances into more wins and other teams, other opponents are beginning to take notice as well, including Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts over the weekend, noticing the energy that was present in Rate Field.
But as long as the White Sox keep winning at home, their floor for the rest of the season is going to be raised.
If they can take care of business and protect their home ballpark, they have a really good chance of being in the playoff race deep into the 2026 season.
