Recent Mock Draft has the 49ers Bolstering the Trenches

It's still the offseason, but it's never too early to look at mock drafts.

Let's move on to the secondary, Jason, kind of lump them together.

this is another position group that I'm a little concerned about.

The names are there, it's just this was the healthiest group on the defense last year, and they had their fair share of issues.

Right now, cornerback, you have Deommodore Lenoir, Green on the outside, Upton-Stout as your slot.

There's some speculation that Nate Hobbs might jump Green at that starting spot on the outside.

We'll see what happens.

Obviously, there's a lot of people who seem to think Deommodore Lenoir is better on the inside than he is on the outside.

But Upton-Stout has a grip on that, that slot cornerback position.

And then safety, Jair Brown, Malik Mustafa, Marquise Siegel.

There's kind of a, a three-person group that could fight for the two spots.

We'll see how that lands.

I don't know how to feel about this secondary because, I mean, if you go back to the 2018 49ers, historically the worst secondary Or no, sorry, the Jets.

The Jets this year did it, zero interceptions.

but up until that point, the Niners 2018 secondary, two interceptions, the previous record for fewest interceptions this season.

The 2018 off-season, they don't really address the secondary.

They run in with the same team.

But now they have a Dee Ford, a Nick Bosa, they address the pass rush.

And all of a sudden the secondary looked a lot better.

I, I don't necessarily want to blame it because of the pass rush issues last season.

This is the group that needs to take the biggest step this off-season, if you wanna talk about a potential Super Bowl run for this team.
