This is a lost season already, and I think that this is a symptom of something larger with this team.
This is not the most mentally tough individual, as we've talked about many times before with Brian Bao.
Now, you've got a team that collectively doesn't seem like the strongest of teams, and now they've got a bad record and they've lost a ton at home.
And so this to me is a symptom of that, right?
This is a, an extension of what has happened with this team sorta showing itself in Brian Bao.
No doubt.
Because we've talked about his inconsistency for years.
We've talked about him not being able to hold it together.
So this is who he is, and then you put him on a bad team with a bad record, and a group of guys that don't seem to be, you know, really giving it their all this year in 2026, and I think this is the end result.
So, you know, fine, you go back to having an opener for him.
I sort of agree with Chad Tracy on this, which is, well, what do you want us to do?
You want us to baby him like that until the end of time, or do you want us to put the starting pitcher out there to start the game?
When you talk about the, the mental toughness or lack thereof with this team, you can trace it back to the front office.
And when your front office is as focused as they are on the numbers and the spreadsheets and how things are supposed to play out and projected records and all of this type of stuff, you lose sight of what makes a good baseball team a good baseball team, which is oftentimes the intangible stuff, especially in a market like this one, where it's a prerequisite- to have mental toughness in order to succeed in this market, and it feels like the group that's putting the roster together ignores that.
