What in the hell has happened to the Red Sox, dude?
Look- Ooh me being a Yankee fan, you know, I hate watching what I'm watching.
But these guys went from being the bums in the American League East to now all of a sudden these guys can't lose.
How did they turn this thing around in Boston?
Well, they're on another eight-game winning streak too right here.
I mean- Yeah.
Right, right like you said, cannot lose.
They are, they are, they are the hottest thing going, you know?
And it reminds me of the 2023 Rangers right around this time when, you know, I just, I didn't see them as, like, an elite team top to bottom, but everything just started clicking and that clubhouse had the, had the juice, had the momentum going for them.
Boston's got it all right now.
Look at them.
They're smiling every time they touch a baseball field.
They can be down by four runs and you see it in their eyes.
They're like, "It, it don't matter.
We're gonna get five."
Like, "We're coming back."
They-- now I'm not sitting here saying that the Boston Red Sox are some underpaid team.
Like, they've spent plenty of money too, okay?
I don't have the numbers in front of me, but they're good for baseball.
Even if you're a Yankees fan, it's good to see a team that's not spending the money that the Dodgers are spending and winning games like this.
This is what I think of when I think of baseball.
162-game season.
Who gets hot at the right time?
That's what I've always thought baseball was, and the Dodgers are kind of changing that narrative to just like, "Hey, we're the big bad."
Well, the Red Sox have something to say about that.
They're hot right now.
I think they stay hot.
They've got the juice.
I'm on board with the Red Sox.
You know, just to show you how much I hate the Red Sox, when I grew up- watching the Red Sox, Fisk behind the plate, George Scott at first base, Dewey out in right field, Rice and Lynn.
I mean, I go down the list.
"Sills, how do you know all about the Red Sox?"
Because I hate the Red Sox.
That's why.
Hate them that much.
I'm a Yankee fan.
Right.
So, I mean, Munson and Fisk back in the day.
All right, let me take you out west here with the Padres.
Hey, dude, is it because of the, what Machado's doing at the plate that they're starting to turn this thing around a little bit?
They're still right now a little bit outside the wild card, but you know the Padres right now are starting to make some noise here, potentially being a wild card team, or you're not buying them?
I'm more interested in the future, that I don't know if you remember, that we talked about with the Astros on the other side.
I'm interested with that divisional future with the Astros.
I don't know about the Padres.
Now, I, I was just looking at some of their numbers earlier, and now we're looking, I'm talking a 10-game sample, but, I mean, they're hitting like 260-something against right-handed pitching in their last 10, 10 games.
And if you go back, you know, their last 30 games or back on the season, hitting like 214 as a team.
The numbers are just atrocious.
They're really trending in the right direction.
Yes, Machado hitting the ball would be a huge help for them.
But I gotta say, and obviously, Tatis isn't somebody who has, you know, jumped off the cliff like Machado has hitting under 200, but Tatis is hitting the ball really well right now.
He, he's driven that average.
He's in the 280 right now.
I, I think Jackson Merrill is another player who really had been having just a down season that we expect to be a superstar, or at least a star.
Maybe not a superstar, but a star.
A lot of these players are starting to, get right along with Machado.
So yeah, Padres are not a team that I wanna get put up against here.
As far as pitching goes, I don't know if the Padres have the staff to make it through, a playoff run, but I do think they could get there.

All I can do is say- How about this one here, Cab.
Would you take-- Cab, would you take that job if you're Alex Cora?
He-- So, that And that's what exa- It's-- What a great way to frame that question, 'cause my first thought was, what would I do if I was in that situation?
Yeah, I'd take it.
I mean, they, they got the third highest payroll in baseball.
If they're willing to spend that type of money, absolutely, give me a chance with them.
I don't believe in curses or anything like that.
If you're gonna spend that type of money, hell yeah, give me a shot with them
