Meanwhile, let's go to a couple of pitchers here.
The Red Sox have been carried by their pitchers and Wily Abreu over the last couple of months.
One of them has been Peyton Tully.
20 innings pitched.
1.35 earned run average.
25 strikeouts and four walks.
Red Sox now have a pretty strong rotation, three or four deep.
You know, I guess we just have to see if that hot run is sustainable, Tom, between now and the end of the season.
It feels like since then, you know, they're playing about 500 baseball.
Fortunately, they're in the American League.
If they play 500 and Tully and some of the other pitchers and, you know, Sonny Gray pitch well, they're gonna make the playoffs.
I just, I'm still a little skeptical that we saw what we saw was real.
Right.
Peyton Tully's been awesome.
You know, shout out to him.
He's helping carry one of my NFBC teams, which I really do appreciate at this point in the year.
But he's been great.
I, I think how good he is was part of the reason that the Red Sox did trade Connolly early and they, they were willing to move on from him just 'cause they know, okay, they have Sonny Gray, they have Ranger Surez, they can now have this emerging ace with Peyton Tully.
He's been great, and frankly, depending on how the schedule falls, he's a game one starter for them in the playoffs.
I, I real- It's either him or Gray, I think, depending on, you know, how the end of the season shakes out of who is pitching when.
But he is shaping up to be a true number one ace for a team.
