Yeah, I'm gonna keep it simple, and Ryan always hears me say this, but I always look at plus/minus goal differential for teams.
And that's always- a great litmus test as to whether you're gonna be in the playoffs or you're not.
And in the West it seems like the second wildcard spot, it's gonna be a minus differential, 'cause every team there is just awful.
But Detroit is a, I think a minus five or a minus four differential right now.
They're the only team in the East that's got a minus goal differential that's currently, sitting in a playoff spot.
So it doesn't look great.
You, you lose Dylan Larkin, who is not only just a great player, but he is the heartbeat of that team, and- Yes you know, coming off that Olympic win, I thought he was gonna go back and it was just gonna be, all right, Detroit, you can just forget about penciling them in.
Get a Sharpie and write it in there- because it's not gonna get erased.
They're gonna be a playoff team.
But now I'm not so sure.
Now I'm looking at Columbus going, ooh, is it the Blue Jackets' time?
Are they gonna creep up there- Ooh and steal, Detroit's spot in the, as a wildcard team?

like, this is It's so unfortunate, 'cause I feel like we've seen this movie again and again during Yzerman's tenure, where they just- Yeah don't have enough to get into the playoffs.
And losing Larkin, as Mike said, like, he's the heart and soul of that team, he's their best player.
and they just, they seem to do this every year, where they just, they just don't do enough, at one critical juncture.
And, like, they don't have a lot of guys who can step up, um- Yeah you know, especially with Kop out as well.
Like, is it Marco Kasper?
Like, Marco Kasper is only 21.
I think he has, like, 16 points this year or something like that.
Like, he's not having a great season.
you know, he is still technically developing, but, like, where do they go?
