Anthony's been absolutely on fire since he's returned to the Bigs.
In five games, he's batting 455.
He's hit a home run in two straight games after going deep just once in his first 33 games this season.
His OPS, it's looking Mickey Gasper-esque, which we're gonna get to in a second.
That guy is on fire.
But for more on Roman Anthony, we're gonna break out the crystal ball.
Let's start with, d-, Tom Giles.
Do you think 22-year-old Roman Anthony can carry the Sox in the post season?
Sure.
Why not?
I mean, the way he's hitting the ball right now, the way he's come back from this injury, it's definitely, I think, more than anyone could have hoped for.
It's, a far cry from the struggles he got off to back in April and so I, I, I don't see why not.
He, he has, he has a maturity about him at the plate that you do not see in 22 year olds.
So I, I take the age out of it and, he's, he's got some Not post-season experience 'cause he missed playoffs last year, but the World Baseball Classic.
I, we, we keep leaning on that, but I think that does help a little bit.
Yeah.
I think the discipline that he's shown, to your point, at the plate, is really admirable, especially for a guy who had been out for months.
You'd think he'd just be chomping at every pitch.
But, is he gonna carry the team the entire postseason however long that goes?
Is he gonna need some help?
Definitely.
Definitely.
Is he gonna need Wilson Contreras to be the Wilson Contreras he's been most of the season?
I think he's gonna need a little something from either Adley Rutschman or, from Trevor Story.
And with Trevor Story, I mean, who knows?
So I don't think he can do it alone.
I don't think you can expect him to be this guy for the rest of whatever this post-season is gonna be, but I think that you at least get some of that
