Sam Darnold Out vs. Cardinals With Glute Injury, Drew Lock to Start for Seahawks

Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold will miss Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals due to a glute injury, with Drew Lock stepping in as the starter and rookie Jalen Milroe serving as backup. Coach Mike McDonald confirmed the team does not plan to sign another quarterback, and Darnold is not expected to go on injured reserve. Lock finished the season opener against the Patriots going 16 of 22 for 187 yards and a touchdown after Darnold was hurt on the fifth play. Depending on rehab progress, Darnold could return for the Seahawks' next game against the Washington Commanders on September 27.
