I think Steve Staos is here for a long time, so he's definitely-- I'd put like everything I own on the fact that he will last longer as an Ottawa Senators employee than Travis Green.
But Green could be here for the foreseeable future.
What's the pressure like on him for the coming season?
Well, I think that the pressure kind of gets-- There, there would have been pressure, no question, two good years in a row, but two quick playoff exits.
Depending on your half full or half empty glass, how you view the Carolina, you got swept, but you played well.
They won a Stanley Cup, but they still swept you.
You know, how do you view that loss?
And, and the injury factor as well.
You know, how do you, how do you view that loss to Carolina?
Doesn't matter to me, plain and simple.
You made the playoffs, and you lost two years in a row in the first round.
So the expectation is you need to do better than that.
But then the other side of the coin is you lost that guy we don't talk about anymore.
He's gone.
You brought in other players.
The general manager has brought in other players for this coach to work with.
How does this coach receive those players?
Does he see them as being what the GM sees?
Does he see the projection the same as the, as the GM?
If he doesn't, and he doesn't play them to the level that the GM wants him to play them, or they don't produce to the level that is expected, then whose fault is it?
Is the GM, is Steve Staos gonna say, "You know what?
I made a mistake.
That guy's not good enough.
That guy's not good enough.
Sorry, Trav, I screwed you on this."
Or does he say, "Trav, this guy's good.
You need to play him more"?
You know, that's, that's what's gonna-- the, the, the loggerheads there.
That will determine how much pressure he's under.
