Sharks' Orlov, Askarov, Chernyshov Will Have to Wait At Least One More Year for International Competition

On Thursday, the International Ice Hockey Federation announced that Russia's ban from competition will not be lifted in 2027. As a result, San Jose Sharks defenseman Dmitri Orlov 's return to international competition will be delayed. Igor Chernyshov and Yaroslav Askarov would be long-shots to make a Russian National Team at this stage, but their ambitions will have to wait as well.
