So number four I'm particularly excited to hear about, because I'm still writing this guy up in my day three eval.
Yeah.
And I've r- I've ranked 10 running backs already.
Uh-huh.
I have not watched enough from a scouting lens of Jam Miller- Yes at Alabama.
Oh.
So I'm really excited to see this guy is number four from you.
he's projected to be a late day three pick- Yep right now.
5'10", 209 pounds out of, of course, the state of Texas.
Played at a big program like Alabama, which we've criticized that their run game wasn't up to their usual standard this year.
Yep.
But Chris, a top five running back for you in a pretty decent class.
This is a big statement.
It definitely is.
I think this is a guy that's gonna rise as the more people watch him.
the stats aren't there, it's not sexy.
Their blocking wasn't great.
They don't block very well at all.
Yeah.
They never even really tried to stay consistent with the run game.
But, th- I mean, first off, you talk about incredible legs, incredible legs.
Some of the best legs in the draft.
5'10", 209 pounds, I mean, just the look is incredible, and dense, jacked muscle.
And again, I'm in You gotta have some size and something to you if you're gonna run the ball up the middle and, you know, take the car crashes you are- Yeah in the NFL.
He's got that.
He runs more like a power back at 209 than the guy that's the 4.42 speed.
I, I, at first when I turned it on, and of course I watched him during the year, but thought, "Oh, I'm gonna see more of a big play guy here."
But man, he runs hard.
And then because of those, that power in his lower legs, he gets a lot of extra yards after contact.
He falls forward, he moves the pile.
Right?
I wrote his, he, l- I had just watched the Indiana guys were In full transparency, they're not going to be, on this podcast right here.
I like them.
But I wrote, "Just like the Indiana guys, it's like, it's, it's go downhill right away when he gets the ball."
So there's no nonsense to it at all.
He's got very good feet.
He's got very good hips.
He can do the weave a little bit, and he can also do the, "I'm breaking down and going to do this and break your ankles."
So he's got a little bit of both there when he does that.
And he can make people miss in space.
Catches the ball well, phenomenal in pass protection.
Like the Notre Dame guys, wants to square you up.
Right.
He's not gonna be the fall of that, right?
And then has the type of big play, or speed to make big plays.
Just, you kind of alluded to it.
And I know that's, people are gonna use that against him and go, "Well, he never broke a lot of runs over 20 yards, or any runs over 20 yards."
And I would go, "Man, there wasn't many runs there to be had of 20 yards- Right with the way they block things and did things."
And that's where I don't know if that's fair to throw that to him.
So yeah, I was pleasantly surprised with Jam Miller and the way he goes about it.
I think he's got NFL build, I think he's got NFL speed.
He can take contact like an NFLer, and I, I really think he's an NFL starting running back.
Ran a 4.42.
Checked in at 209 at the combine, but his playing weight was listed at 221.
I That's what it looked like.
That's what I, well, I, I'm glad you said that.
Totally agree.
I don't He's not 209.
He do- he just wanted to run really fast, and credit to him, he did.
Yeah.
He slimmed down and ran a 4.42, which puts him even further on the radar.
Kinda like Josh Jacobs legs.
That Alabama guy is, like, usually- I mean, they're impressive- Yes looking, their legs, on the lo- lower half.
And yeah, it allows him to have people hit off his legs, his thighs, and he gets extra yards.
And again, I think the, the speed is, is, it's there.
It's just if he got more carries and more chances and they knew how to block a little bit better, he just There's other guys where I go, "Hey, this team knows how to block," and the Red Sea parted a few times.
And they're not nearly as talented as a Jam Miller is, but they got 60 and 70-yard touchdowns on their resume.
And I would just go, "No, no.
Some of these guys that we got on our rankings, if they had those holes, you'd go, 'Holy shit balls.'"
Yep.
"They're scoring touchdowns from everywhere."
So you gotta take that into account a little bit about, it's just not all apples to apples all the time.
