AJ gives his thoughts on how the Chris MacFarland deal played out and why it was a great career move for him

This was obviously something that was working, that when the Avs were eliminated, it was like, "Hey, we're gonna immediately set this into motion."
And it's smart of Nashville.
Frankly, it's smart of CMAC because his reputation probably will never be better than what it has been over the last two years with the way that he super aggressively transformed the Avalanche roster from one that was like, it was good.
Yep.
It was competitive, but it, it didn't scare anybody, to one that won the President's Trophy and should be playing in the Stanley Cup Final right now, but whatever.
And when you have the opportunity to get that president gig, there's no, there's no promotion after that.
Like, that's the last promotion that he will get- Yeah in his career.
That's- Top of the totem pole.
Exactly.
You climbed the entire mountain.
He has a Stanley Cup as an AGM.
If he gets one as, the president/GM, you start talking about him as- like, hey, he's, like, one of the great executives of an e- of an era, of a generation, right?
Yeah.
Especially he turns, if he turns that franchise around and, and makes it competitive again, and they have so many draft picks that we've seen how aggressively he's used them to rebuild Colorado.
I'm curious to see in Nashville, 'cause he doesn't have the star p- players to build around.
So, what is his approach gonna be?
What does that look like, yeah.
Yeah.
I'm, I'm more curious, like, I find the topic more interesting of how does he, like, re- rebuild Nashville than what happens to Colorado now.
I, with Sakic there, I think that there will be some continuity, a lot of familiarity there.
But people, people are lying if they think that CMAC was not an enormous part of how this organization has grown over the last decade.
