Is the Super Bowl window closing for Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills?
I don't really think so.
Neither does Danny Parkins and Greg Jennings, who were talking about it on First Things First.
Danny Parkins, part of his quote was, I believe that Josh Allen is inevitable.
I think he is too good.
He's going to get there.
I do not think the window is closing at all for Josh Allen and the Bills.
Now look, I will say, pointing this out, and this may be obvious, the window has definitely shrunk a little bit.
I mean, Josh Allen turned 30 this past May.
He is an older quarterback at this point, more veteran quarterback.
It is not the same type of window as it was for Josh Allen maybe in 2021 or 2022.
Time has passed, and he is only getting older as every season goes by.
And I feel like the Buffalo Bills maybe thought that it was potentially closing quicker than they really should have, or maybe than other people did, by firing Sean McDermott after last season and giving the job to Joe Brady.
Not saying that that was the wrong decision necessarily, but that showed me that the organization knows that they have to capitalize on this time that they have Josh Allen as their franchise quarterback.
Now look, I know after last year too, with how the game went in Denver, the whole national conversation has been brutal about Josh Allen in the playoffs, and I think it's gotten way out of hand.
I mean, this is a guy whose playoff numbers in his career currently sit at a pass rating of 101.5, 3,900 yards, 29 touchdowns, and 6 picks in a total of 15 playoff games.
Those are elite numbers from Josh Allen, and he has stepped up in some of the biggest moments outside, obviously, of last year.
I mean, heck, he averages 261 passing yards per game in the playoffs.
He has a touchdown percentage of 5.4.
The dude is elite in the playoffs, and he does his best to put the team on his back.
The problem for the Buffalo Bills is, can the other guys around Josh Allen, and that can even include the defense, but especially skill players, can they make the plays needed to get this team over the top?
Now, the Buffalo Bills obviously brought in a new wide receiver one this year, DJ Moore.
James Cook at running back has ascended into one of the best players at that position in the league.
They still have the duo of Dalton Kincaid, Dawson Knox at tight end.
Khalil Shakir, reliable slot receiver, still there.
We're trying to see what Keon Coleman and Skyler Bell can give the team.
Even Joshua Palmer, again, working back from injury.
So they've got pieces around Josh Allen.
Is it the best offense in the league?
No, but Josh Allen finds a way to somehow get them there.
It seems like every single year is one of the top units.
And for the defense, they were excellent last year against the pass.
One of the best units at defending the pass in the league.
Run game, on the other hand, one of the worst.
There's clear area for growth in that metric.
The biggest thing, though, for the Buffalo Bills this year, I think, and it's tough to do under a first-year head coach, especially Joe Brady, but it can be done.
I think they need to win their division.
They need that home field advantage, even at a new high mark stadium.
They need it in the playoffs instead of having to go on the road like they did last year in Jacksonville and in Denver.
If they can get that done, I see no reason why they can't make it to Los Angeles in February of 2027 and have a chance to hoist the Lombardi.
But with all that being said, again, about Josh Allen's Super Bowl window, it is not closed.
We've seen older guys in this era of the NFL continue to have great success.
Obviously, most recently, Matt Stafford won an MVP.
We've seen Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, some of the all-time greats, which Josh Allen, I think, is ascending himself to be in that conversation.
We've seen those guys play great into their mid to late 30s and, heck, even with Tom Brady into his 40s.
So the window is not closed by any means, but you best believe the Buffalo Bills better find a way to get there in a few years because if they don't, I think their organization could look to shake some things up.
