Well, two and a half weeks ago before the trade deadline, and it's a mess out there, a mass confusion.
There's 23 teams that are within four games of a playoff berth or in a playoff position, which means only seven teams out of it, and, about only a handful are gonna be sellers.
I believe there's five teams to watch.
Number one, Detroit Tigers.
What will they do with Derek Skubal?
Two-time Cy Young winner.
They're only three and a half games out of a playoff berth.
I believe they're gonna stay with him and try to make a run at this thing.
Then you got the New York Mets.
Will they trade Francisco Lindor?
I'm hearing that they'll probably trade him, or at least think about trading him, I should say, in the off-season, not now.
But you'll see Freddy Peralta, Luke Weaver, and a bunch of relievers gone.
How about the Milwaukee Brewers?
They, you know, just picked up, Lance McCullers, two and a half million dollar gamble, but will they go for it?
Will they pull off like a CC Sabathia back in 2008?
Do they go after Derek Skubal if he's available?
You know, how about Sonny Gray if the Red Sox decide to sell?
Then you got the San Francisco Giants.
They're the West Coast version of the Mets, just a complete mess.
How many guys go?
Luis Arias, their second baseman, should definitely go.
So will Robbie Rey.
How about those big price infielders?
Rafael Devers, Matt Chapman, Will Adames.
And then there's the San Diego Padres.
What are they gonna do with Mason Miller?
Are they really in this thing?
Are they out of this thing?
What are they gonna do?
I believe that they try to do both, that they trade Mason Miller and still try to patch up their starting rotation and fix, plug in holes that way.
