A new era begins today for Tennessee Athletics, and that is because today, July 1st, 2026, is day one of this new 10-year partnership between the University of Tennessee Athletics and Adidas.
Now, we learned last year that this was happening, that the Vols are moving on from Nike, and it did get some negative response from fans because the Nike look greatly exceeded what Adidas was rolling out, especially in the later years of that partnership.
The Nike deal started back in 2015, and it was a good look for the University of Tennessee.
But the reality is, in the business of college athletics, money is what matters, and this deal was simply too good for Tennessee to pass up.
Plus, I think Adidas learned some things from their last stint at Tennessee and how it ended, and the Vols will have some creative control in this, and what has already come out is looking good for Vols fans.
Not to mention, Adidas was the brand Tennessee was wearing back in the '90s when the Vols were at their peak on the football field, in women's basketball, and overall in athletics.
So it starts now, Tennessee and Adidas for the next decade.
Let us know in the comments, what are you most looking forward to seeing between the Vols and Adidas over the next few years?
