Thitikul emphasizes importance of driving the ball well for success at KPMG Women's PGA
Jeeno Thitikul discussed her second-round performance at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship and said driving is key to being successful at Hazeltine.

You just hit that monster drive on 16, a highlight in what was otherwise, as you described to me, a, an up-and-down day.
How would you assess your overall game today?
Yeah, I'll say I don't really have a, you know, kind of good start.
I just got, like, two over par after, like, four, five holes, and then I was just trying to strict to the process.
I know the course can be, you know, make-able if you hit a really, really good shot, and then you just You can be out on track.
So mentally has to be top on there.
You mentioned that difficult start, those back-to-back bogeys.
What was the biggest challenge for you out there today?
Yeah.
I mean, I don't know.
Maybe, like, I just not had a good number as yesterday.
I mean, yesterday I had a real A lot of greens.
But today, I think in the four, five hole I just hit, like, two greens in the beginning of the round.
But after that kinda, you know, kinda adapt it more.
Maybe the weather is kinda, you know, like, heavier in the morning.
That's why.
You've seen this golf course enough now.
What will you need to do well over the next two days here at Hazeltine to give yourself a chance?
A good golf.
Definitely, definitely a good golf for sure.
you Like, like I said, your driver has to be on track.
And then if your driver's on track, then you have a good chance to be able to go to the pin, hunting for the pin.
'Cause, like, the green seems kinda be friendly to us now, so hopefully, yeah.
Well, we saw your driver get pretty hot out there today.

Morgan, everyone else has basically said the same thing.
You just have to play well.
It's not sneaky.
It's just tough.
This was her at seven.
Yeah, it's a golf course that really rewards good shots and penalizes ones that are just off the mark.
Remember last year in the first round she made nearly 200 feet of putts.
Long one there at seven.
And then at the ninth after a big tee shot.
So she had rallied from a couple of early bogeys at three and four.
Birdied three in a row.
Seven, eight, nine.
Then at 14 for another.
This never left the center of the hole.
Beautiful swinging putt right there.
And the momentum was building.
She got to the 16th.
She's one of the only ones to birdie 16 both days.
The only one.
