Welcome back to the Two Robbies Daily, where we give a little bit of insight into what we're seeing at this tournament and what we're about to see.
And what we saw with the US Men's National Team- Yeah.
Rob, was, was pretty spectacular.
Give us some, give us some details.
Well, it was spectacular in their technical ability, their tactical ability, and there was goals, Rob.
There's been- always a criticism of the, the US national team that they don't get enough goals.
Well, they did.
Flores Balogun got two.
And did you know the last time a US Men's National player scored twice in the tournament game was 1930?
Wow.
The Rockefeller Center- The- wasn't even built back then.
That's almost 100 years ago.
That's nearly 100 years ago.
Yeah.
That's how important it was.
And, and in Balogun, Rob, they might have a center forward who could go close to winning Golden Boot.
Yeah.
I'll tell you what, though.
I, I'll, I'll, I'll take that, but I'll raise you Christian Pulisic.
I thought he was brilliant in the game.
And when you think about what he's doing now for the national team, only Landon Donovan has contributed to more goals in this tournament since 1990.
And of course, Pulisic's got, I'm sure, more tournaments to come.
That was quite the statement, and that's a high bar now set by that team.
Have we just gotta be careful that it was Paraguay, and that we might be getting a bit- I don't think so over the top.
I don't think so.
It was good in all areas, in all- ways that they, that they attacked and defended for the most part.
It was top class.
Let me tell you, they've got some good players.
They need the fans with them as well.
Keep the fans with them after a win like that, and so could be some big things, Rob.
Totally.
Next up, Brazil take on Morocco in a very tough test in their group in this tournament.
And remembering, of course, that Brazil had their worst qualifying in the current format, Rob.
Yeah, but once they get here in tournaments, they've do pretty well.
They've topped their group in every tournament since 1982.
So Ancelotti will get his team going when they get here.
Well, I'll tell you who didn't struggle in qualifying, and that's Morocco.
They won eight, all of their, games in qualifying.
Very strong team right now, of course, with the semifinal in the last tournament- four years ago in Qatar.
They'll fancy their chances.
Really interesting how this pool of players have come together.
19 members of this squad were born outside Morocco.
That's really interesting, Rob, 'cause when we got to the World Cup with Jamaica, there was eight players who were born in England who were brought into squad.
And I gotta tell you, there's a chemistry and a unity that comes when you're playing for the flag wherever you were born.
Kinda unite under the flag- for the, for the tournament.
Very much.
Cool.
Scotland are back in the tournament, and I always think it's a better tournament with the Scots in it.
They haven't played in this level since 1998.
But they've got some players that can do a little bit of damage, and Scott McTominay will be the player that they think can score goals.
I think it's since 2023, Rob, he's got 13 goals in- competitive games from midfield, running into the box.
A little bit like what you did at times, mate, in your career.
He's a, he's a pretty, pretty, efficient and energetic and, and effective player.
My slight worry for the Scots, I think in fullback positions and midfield positions they're strong.
Center back and center forwards, I think they, they, they could struggle a little bit.
I do like Steve Clark.
I think he's a talented coach.
I think he's gonna do a good job, and, they can be fun to watch for sure.
Maybe some of the best fans in the world.

Australia take on Turkey, Rob, as well.
just looking at some of their numbers.
Australia- Yeah 16 goals in 10- in qualifying.
Not awful, but when you come to this tournament, the quality is higher.
They might struggle for goals.
When you think about this tournament, Rob, travel and time zones are gonna a- be an issue now.
Australia kick off midnight on Eastern Time, which might be good if you're in Australia.
It might be.
Not, I'm thinking, great if an Australian player, 12, midnight Eastern Time- Yeah 9:00 PM on Pacific Time.
Trying to get used to that, yeah.
And I know me, mate, I'll be in my bed by then.
