Tyson Fury admits he didn't train for Francis Ngannou: 'It was play'

Tyson Fury acknowledged he underprepared for his October 2023 bout with Francis Ngannou, clarifying why the contest proved unexpectedly competitive. In a recent ALF Global interview, Fury said he treated the matchup as an exhibition rather than a serious boxing fight. He said he did not train for Ngannou, who was making his professional boxing debut, before edging a split decision over 10 rounds. Fury was knocked down in the third round and said the former UFC champion lacked boxing accolades but came with a different mindset. He is now rumored to face Anthony Joshua later this year, with negotiations on date and location ongoing.
