UCF goalkeeper Matisse Hebert speaks with the media after the Knights' season-opening win against Boston U.

All right, Matisse, congratulations on the win .
You ended, um, the Boston ended up sending 6 shots away, but none of which ended up being on target.
Just what was it like analyzing that offense today?
I mean, I think we put a great shift defensively.
I mean, conceding 0 shot on target is really good, especially that they were putting a lot of cross, a lot of the tampon goal, and I think none of them went on goal, so I think.
going forward defensively from everyone there, a lot of communication.
And even the sideline, we can hear the level of communication that you guys have and with so many different backgrounds in the team, is there a language that like everybody understands the best, or is there a preferred level of communication that you guys have?
I mean, as Gwen said, it's, it's football, so it's, we have one language here, but it's, it's, it's hard, but it's not hard.
We've been working together for the in the summer.
I think on the left side it's Gwen and uh Hugo are both speaking French and I'm speaking French, so it's easier for the left side, and then with Taka I create a good relationship with Gm too.
So I think it's just we all talk the same language and it's just football.
Are you guys where you want to be to start the regular season?
Yes, I mean, we, we started with a win and a clean sheet.
I think we couldn't ask for a better start than that.
What, what, what brought you to Orlando from the trip on the portal?
I mean, I just wanted a bigger, bigger challenge.
I'm, I'm here to win a championship and uh, uh, the coaching staff are great, so I think it's.
It's a great opportunity for me to just raise my level and be at my best.
From your perspective, being back in goal, how do you prepare for a team like FAU that the Knights face very regularly?
I mean right now we just play BU and then tomorrow is just uh rest and then after that we we dive into it right away.
A lot of film, a lot of mental rep is right now it's just gonna be a bit more recovery because we play in 3 days I think so.
But I think a lot of film we're gonna talk.
The coaches are probably right now already onto that game, so I think we're just gonna leave it to the coach, and I think they're just gonna, they're just gonna be here for, for us.
And what do you think went right on the defensive side of the ball?
I mean, I think just a lot of communication here.
I think it just, and we have a great relationships, all of the back four with, with our 6-2 with Eunice, I think uh.
Over the summer we, we, we spent like 6-7 weeks here so I think it's just we create that relationship and I think it's that that's what it's working .
How important are the fans, the energy the fans bring to you guys?
I think it's really important, um, as you guys, uh, heard with the little, little.
I don't know how you call that , but I think that was really great, and a lot of fans were just screaming at Boston, which is, which is good for the corner, for example.
I think it's, it brought for us, it's just amazing to be, to be part of that, and we had a great fan base today.
How much were you able to see of Taco's goal?
I mean, I, I had a great view.
I, I just saw it perfectly.
It was just open and then just left foot, and then I didn't see him taking his shirt, so I don't know if that that was really yellow or not.
What was it like to see Taka, who's normally known for his defense, end up being the first night to get a goal this season?
I mean, I was just, it's amazing for him.
I'm really happy, but I'm not surprised because he's working on his offensive, um, part a lot in training after training, he's just doing some shooting, shooting on goal, but I'm not surprised and I'm really happy for him.
What do you want to take from the night go into Boca Raton?
I mean, just keep it up.
I think we, we did a great job defensively.
We just need a. Um, be better a bit and offensively and finish our shot or occasion that we have and then just keep a clean sheet again to the against FAU and then just work from there.
