UFC champ Ilia Topuria reveals unique device used during fight camp
Ilia Topuria outlined his use of neurostimulation devices in preparation for his June 14 title defense, noting a focus on training and recovery. The undefeated champion meets Justin Gaethje at UFC White House for the lightweight title. Topuria says the neurostimulation with infrared light improves focus, aids mental recovery, and supports sleep. He described two versions: a pre-training headgear with two helmets used for 15 minutes, and a second model worn near the neck after training and at night. He has used the devices in all his camps and joked about their unusual appearance. Topuria, known as "El Matador," shared the details in a YouTube video.
