U.S. caps Pan Pacs with men's 4x100m medley title
The U.S. ended the Pan Pacific Championships on a high note, as Will Modglin, Van Mathias, Luca Urlando, and Jack Alexy swam a Championship Record 3:29.06 to win the gold medal in the men's 4x100m medley relay.

Tommy Tant who swam this relay last summer was 53.3 so, you know, here, here it is, here's the case where the U s- US has to do the job here.
I mean, Swinburn for Australia was 10th.
He went 55 flat.
So he wasn't even in the picture and he's not gonna be in the picture here.
They're gonna have to do it in the breast and the butterfly.
Temple though was sensational.
This is where the United States should be up by a second and a half at least.
Not on Canada.
Canada doesn't have the depth that Australia has.
Well, Tierney beat Majchrzyn for gold in the 100 back here at Pan Pacs, and right now the Canadian trying to do it to the American again.
And it will be Majchrzyn, though, with the upper hand, the little payback there by about 1/10 and a half as we turn it over to Ban Mathias for the United States in breaststroke.
Yeah, 53.8 for Majchrzyn but, again, look at Australia.
Guy goes 55 flat and Swinburn goes 54.6.
I mean, if and you think Australia's out of it now, they're not.
They're, they really aren't, Jason, because they've got this guy Temple.
Matthew Temple won the 100 fly earlier.
He was 49.3 on their relay earlier in the meet in the mixed medley.
So they've got to build a good body length because Temple might close it by a full second here.
And look at Ban Mathias, who has had some real issues with his back here in Irvine.
Lot of back spasms but coming through in a big way here for the US.

57.7 for Mathias.
That dude just comes through, man.
What a way to come through for the United States.
He, I mean, he almost didn't even swim the 50 breaststroke last time and he almost didn't even swim it and he gets up and just has a great split.

Luca Urlando, the world champ and Pan Pacs gold medalist in the 200 fly, watching his lead shrink soon.
Mitsunaga surging for Japan right now but a good turn for Urlando.
Right now for Australia, here's Matthew Temple to try to bring the Dolphins back in it.

Japan can't do it the last leg.

The American record holder, two-time world silver medalist and Pan Pacs champion of the 100 free looking to close the deal here for the United States in the men's medley relay.

Temple 49.7, another great split for him.
Now Jack cannot do it all that first 50.
He needs to be patient and now take off, buddy.

Don't give him any breathing room right now.
Harrison Turner doing all he can for Australia above Jack Alexy but the 6'8" American using all of that size and strength to keep the Aussies at bay.
Jack Alexy gonna help cap the thing here at Pan Pacs with another gold for Team USA.

Here's the backstroke and this is where Australia's gonna have issues in the future.
They gotta get a backstroker.
Once they do, they're gonna be very, very dangerous.
I mean, Majchrzyn did his job.
A, I can't say enough about Ban Mathias.

50.5, I'd take that all day long.
And then the man, the man, 46.9, making it all look easy.
And safe start by the way, Jason, for Jack Alexy and he needed to be safe.
