And we are wrapping up the 50 meter freestyle from the ladies.
The world record holder, Gretchen Walsh, just end to end laid the smack down, dominated the race, barely missing her world record by .5.
Sounds like it's a little, but it is a lot when you are moving that fast in the water.
There's a nice big space, and then we have the on-the-rise UVA training mate Anna taking home second place.
Third finishing out with Liberty Clark from, Indiana, as a teenager, 19.
So we're seeing some, you know, what we expect from Gretchen heading into the Pan Pacific Championships here in two weeks.
A great little heat check from downtown, Steph Curry style, to make sure that she is hitting her stride going into this meet, and hopefully we'll see her dip further into those 23s and, you know, start knocking on the door of 22s.
What do you think about this race, Elvis?
Yeah, it's definitely a good sign going into Pan Pacs.
You know, I didn't think she would be this fast, you know, this close to the meet, or, or this far from the meet I should say.
But it is in a few weeks, so she's got, you know, some time to do a little more rest, a little more tuning up.
I think we're going to see something magical at Pan Pacs, but I would be remissed if we didn't mention the young phenom Gabby Brito from Beach City Aquatics winning her heat in the 18 and under championship, coached by Justin Max over there in California, so congratulations to Gabby Brito.
She's got a bright future ahead of her as well.
