Vikings add veteran presence in Van Noy

Wednesday edition of PFT Live.
We're gonna take a little tour of the NFC North.
Some news that emerged late last night, multiple reports, Kyle Van Noy expected to join the Vikings practice squad.
He would be reunited in Minnesota with Brian Flores.
Won a couple of Super Bowls with Flores in New England, was with him in 2020 in Miami.
Now for the third time they'll be together.
And when you consider that intricate, complicated defense, you bring in a guy that knows it well, a guy who still has some gas in the tank at 35, and, you know, and they- they're flirting with this idea still of bringing back Harrison Smith, and maybe, maybe Van Noy arriving is the indication that Smith isn't- Yeah going to come back, that they want, like, a veteran leader on that defense, and maybe that becomes Van Noy.
Yeah.
I, I, I can see it.
I mean, certainly Van Noy's still a, a good football player.
He is.
It's not like you watch Ravens last year and go, "Oh, man, he's, you know, really at the end here.
He's the wiggly, wink, weak link on the defense."
he still can fit a role.
Now, you know, whether he's a starter or not, okay, yeah.
But for that defense, like you've talked about, it is complicated, and Flores values those pieces that you can move around.
Van Noy can do everything.
He's still got some value as a pass rusher.
He plays the run really well.
You can stand him up at linebacker and trust him in the pass coverage and do that.
So they're not overwhelmingly talented at that edge position.
It sounds like Dallas Turner had a really good training camp, and they're expecting something big from him.
But, as you know, you know, you look at them and go, "Oh, okay.
He's on one edge."
He's kind of a unproven commodity still.
We think he's a good player, but can he be a first-round star like, you know, we thought or they thought he could be?
And then the other guy on the other side, Van Ginkel, there's not a lot of great depth and talent as far as pass rusher there.
So I can understand them, you know, having a need and wanting Kyle Van Noy.
And they thought they had something with Jamal Adams.
He suffered that torn quad tendon against the Giants in the first preseason game, and that was that- Yeah for unfortunately, what would've been and was shaping up to be kind of a, a, a return, a resurrection year for Jamal Adams.
He's had several difficult years.
After suffering a torn quad tendon, he said it took him multiple year to come back from it.
It's just a shame, and the Vikings are kind of putting their arms around him, and they're gonna have him around the team all year-
