Mike Vrabel's difficult conversations admission does little to silence skeptics over Russini photos and scandal.
Mike Vrabel finally spoke and somehow made the story bigger.
Two weeks ago, Page Six published photos of the Patriots head coach and NFL reporter Diana Russini holding hands and embracing at an adults-only resort in Arizona.
Both are married.
Vrabel initially called it a completely innocent interaction and said any suggestion otherwise was laughable.
Russini left The Athletic shortly after the story broke.
At a press conference Tuesday, Vrabel walked right up to the line of admitting more than he originally let on.
He said the photos led to difficult conversations with his family, the organization, coaches, and players, then vowed to deliver the best version of me going forward.
When asked directly if he still stood by his original claim that everything was innocent, he dodged.
"I'm gonna focus on our football team," he said.
That non-answer did not go unnoticed.
The Patriot are days from the NFL draft, and their head coach is now the center of a scandal that shows no sign of going away.
Vrabel wanted this to be private.
