Bareback Rider Weston Timberman Sidelined Due to Injury
Weston Timberman has been climbing his way to the top of the leaderboards but now has to take time off due to shoulder injury and impending surgery.

And we're here with Wesson Timberman, one of the best bronc riders out there.
He's a bareback extraordinaire, but, unfortunately, you had to drop out tonight.
Why don't you tell us what's going on with you?
Yeah, you know, it's an unfortunate thing, especially this time of the year, 'cause of, all the just really great rodeos you can go to over the Cowboy Christmas.
But I've been dealing with a, torn labrum in my riding shoulder, and I've been really gritting it out for the past couple months.
And, and a- after we started rodeoing pretty hot and heavy here the last month, it's been tough on it.
And, and you know, at some point every cowboy's gotta know their limits, and it's tough.
I mean, I'm still having a tough time really, truly, finding that limit, right now.
But, so yeah, I mean, I gotta play the smart game and, and today I it just wasn't in my cards to get on and Yeah, it's too bad.
We were really looking forward to watching you ride here at the Livingston Roundup on the 4th of July.
It's a good comp and, yeah, we're really excited to see your name on there.
Then when it got pulled off, totally understand.
I know you've been dealing with some injuries for a while, and you've been dealing with this for a while.
But nobody sums up the term cowboy up than you.
I mean, what, you rode, top 14 through all of it, and you finally just had to step aside.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Exactly.
You know, it's one of those deals where you gotta, you gotta make a, make a decision in your mind where, you just gotta push that pain aside and just go do your job.
You know, it's eight seconds, like, how hard can it be?
And I did, I did a good job at that for a l- a good while, you know.
the injury first happened in at, on New Year's Eve, and then progressively got worse throughout March and everything.
And, it's one of those deals where I decided, I was like, "You know, I gotta I know the po- there's a possibility that I'm gonna have to call it quits with this shoulder injury."
But, you know, I, I rode a couple months with it not knowing necessarily what it was, and, and yeah.
So when I did finally find out, I was like, "Well, it's one of those deals, you know, there's a chance that it's not gonna work for me."
But, you know, I can't, I can't just call it cold, cold turkey like that, you know, just that easy.
And so I did.
I, I've been out here grinding and it's been real tough, you know.
And a lot of people don't see that.
They just see the, see you out there having fun and winning and doing all that, but it's been a true grind, for me recently.
And yeah, it's, it's, it's a tough, it's a tough pill to swallow.
It truly is.
Yeah.
We've, had these talks before about the injuries and you're there's no better ambassador to the sport, man.
You always have a really good attitude, good outlook, all pushing towards God and just doing what you do, and so it's a pleasure to see you really represent the sport, and there's no one really who does it better than you.
Yes, sir.
Yeah, exactly.
And you know, you know, all things happen for a reason, and everybody's got their own, got, got their own different path that God, God set for them and, you know, in, in a way I find it ironic that, my traveling partner, Sam Pedersen, is out for the year as, as well.
I mean, you know, I haven't fully got everything figured out, but there's a chance that that's me as well.
but it's just ironic how, you know, paths fall into place and you just gotta trust that path and, you know, just keep a positive attitude and move forward 'cause all you can do is move forward and, look to the future.
And I know what my future withholds and, yeah, I'm not worried about nothing.
I'm just gonna keep pushing and just follow that path.
