White Sox Trade Acquisition Impresses in First Game With New Team
José Urquidy delivered five scoreless innings in his first start with Triple-A Charlotte after being acquired in a trade by the Chicago White Sox.

The most recent White Sox trade acquisition is off to a great start with his new organization.
Last week, the White Sox acquired right-handed pitcher Jos Urquidy in a trade with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
They gave Urquidy a 40-man roster spot, but optioned him to Triple-A Charlotte.
Urquidy had appeared in five games out of the bullpen for the Pirates earlier this season, posting an eight fifty-three ERA over six and a third innings.
Not much to, write home about there.
However, Urquidy had shown promise as a starting pitcher since being optioned to Triple-A.
He had made 17 starts with the Pirates in the minor leagues and had pretty good numbers.
He then made his first start with the White Sox organization in Triple-A on Tuesday evening and really dazzled, gave the White Sox a reason to consider adding him to the MLB roster.
He did five scoreless innings, allowing two hits, one walk, one strikeout.
He doesn't have strikeout stuff, he doesn't miss a ton of bats, but he was a tough customer and delivered a strong start despite the hitter-friendly environment in Nashville.
Over his last seven Triple-A outings now, Urquidy has thrown thirty-six innings with a one fifty ERA.
The pitch count has gotten as high as ninety-seven.
So whether it's in the rotation, whether it's in a long relief role, there is an opportunity for Urquidy to maybe eat some innings for a White Sox team that will need those innings down the stretch.
The White Sox also value playoff exper-experience, which he has plenty of.
He's thrown in the World Series.
He's pitched in the postseason in five straight seasons.
Fourteen and two thirds, by the way, in the World Series for Urquidy, two earned runs.
So maybe it's in the bullpen, maybe it's in the rotation or a spot starter.
Who knows?
The trade deadline is less than a week away and the White Sox are under the gun to make an addition to the starting rotation.
But an encouraging start for Jos Urquidy, points us to the fact that Chicago could have added an arm that can help them in some capacity, and they did it kinda under the radar by not moving much meaningful prospect capital.
