Video Transcript
It feels like the White Sox officially dismantled the Twins this weekend, or at least they, they came close to doing it.
I think, you know, a lot of the talk around the Twins has now gone away as they won the series already against them, and they also beat Texas.
We've talked about their offense.
Look, I, I mean, I, I guess there's a scenario where the White Sox in that wildcard round, because they're gonna be the worst division winner, I would assume.
Well, actually, m- you know, maybe not.
I mean, I guess the West may end up being the worst- with the wildcard.
Look, the White Sox are not gonna be able to hit their way through the postseason, Tom.
You know that's not gonna be.
Like, eventually they're gonna face some pitching and they're gonna go down, but they are They have been a fun team this season, and we'll see if w- if they can hold off, the Guardians, who also had a really good week.
They swept the Angels Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday before running into the Royals, who I do wanna spend some time on here.
Yeah, the, the dynamic between the White Sox and the Guardians is really interesting because the White Sox are in a spot where, you know, we just talked about them with their hot hitters, they've had a great season, they have interesting pieces.
Are they really built for the postseason?
Do they really have enough top-end talent between pitching and hitting to win a series?
That I'm not sure about.
When it comes to how hot the Guardians has- have been as of late, I think it makes it interesting with the AL Central because this is a team that people don't wanna count out because they've done it before.
They've proven that they can weather the storm and come back.
I will say it is a little bit of a product of their recent results where they won the series versus the Giants.
Congrats.
They go ahead and, and sweep the Rockies.
Congrats.
They go ahead and sweep the Angels.
The Angels have been better.
Like, they fired everybody.
They made a bunch of trades at the deadline.
All of a sudden, the Angels are better after having less talent theoretically on their lineup.
But they are beating up on bad teams.
But it does make the AL Central race a little bit interesting at this point.
So if you were to give me a choice at this point or head-to-head in a series, I would take the Guardians.
I think they have much better top-end pitching talent and better hitting talent.
And when you give me a series that we can have Gavin Williams, who's been unbelievable this year, Parker Messick, and Tanner Bibee as your one, two, three, I will take that rotation.
And then Foster Griffin coming into the bullpen.
I'll take all thr- all four of those guys, ahead of the White Sox any day of the week.
The Cleveland September record is undeniable.
Every year- It is they really come on strong in September, and so maybe that will happen again.
