Video Transcript
All right.
Whiteboard Wednesday time.
Three questions, three guys on the show today to, play the game.
Bears General Manager Ryan Poles has to like what he has seen from his quarterback, Caleb Williams.
The former number one overall pick's talent was never in question, and now he appears to be settling in.
Caleb Williams said he enjoys working with head coach Ben Johnson as they head into their second season together.
I love where he's at.
I know Ben's talked to you guys probably more in detail.
But what I see is I see joy.
I think the, the first year, you know, there's, he was white-knuckling, you know, the whole time, trying to figure it out, try to doing it right.
And he continues to do that, wanting to do it right, but I think you see that, that joy back in his game, where he's playing free.
Manti is writing a party invitation for his first answer.
Yes, it is gonna be a party.
Manti, give us one thing about week one that will bring you joy on your whiteboard.
Jamie, you're exactly right for this party invitation, 'cause it is gonna be a party.
All right?
Got the date wrong.
What, I did?
Yeah.
Put the date- Explain yourself.
Go okay.
So I, Jamie, said on our show, okay, Monday Night Football, Monday morning, we will be there, KC Live, live with all of you people in Kansas City.
What would bring me so much joy is if you guys show up, bring your kids, bring your breakfast, come and join us.
Bring your vibes.
You know, instead of BYOB, BYOV, bring your own vibes, 'cause we're gonna bring some vibes to Kansas City, and what a great way to kick off the festivities over there in Kansas City than to have you all join us at the breakfast table, me, Jamie, Kyle, and all the beautiful people in Kansas City over there, 13th Grand Boulevard, I think that's where it's located.
Yep.
8:00 AM Eastern Time.
7:00 Central.
7:00 Central, KC Live.
GMFB X, KC Live, we love you.
That's gonna bring me joy, Willie.
Show up and show out.
Barbecue and eggs.
Yeah, come on.
I like that.
I like that, Manti.
I'm, I'm interested in barbecue, so- Yes I know you're on that strict diet, so you're probably gonna, you know, low carb for the kid.
No, no, not tonight.
Cheat day.
It's gonna be a party.
You won't care.
Yeah.
Listen, for me, it, this time of year always ramps up, it feels like you, when the season ends, life kind of slows down and you kinda gotta go back to being an adult and, and kinda refocus, especially if you're, you know, 24/7 all in dad like myself.
I think when it comes to what brings me joy week one is the fact that my wife allows me to have my man time.
Nice.
I'm, I'm allowed to reopen the man cave and hide, right?
She, she allows that type of, of time with me.
The snacks, the big screen TV, the homies over, pizza.
She closes the door and she goes, "Have at it."
And so even though, you know, for some people it's like, well, you know, it could be a distraction 'cause you still gotta go to work.
My wife, she, she sets the stage for me.
She brings the wings and all the stuff, the hom- and we kinda have a day.
It's a good male bonding time, and I get to catch up with the homies.
So week one means the homies are back in the man cave and football's back on, and life is, is happy and fun again for Willie Colon.
Homies is what brings you joy.
Well- before you get so happy, Willie, week one also means the Jets are back on the field, but I'm gonna go positive, guys.
Here's something.
Listen, this is what's gonna bring me joy.
A Jets interception.
Let's go.
Hey.
I want it.
I need it.
If you don't know this story, last year they played 17 tackle football games and didn't have a single interception on defense.
Despite their head coach being a defensive specialist and actually a former defensive back, they didn't have one damn interception.
Let's break the streak.
Week one, F the Titans.
Cam Ward did not throw a lot of interceptions last year.
In fact, at the end of the year, it was str- four straight games without throwing one.
But just give me one interception.
I don't care if it's the ugliest interception in history in which a ball is batted up at the line and some defensive tackle catches it and falls down.
That is an interception.
It goes in the book as an interception.
I don't need a pick six.
I just need a quarterback on another team to throw any kind of forward pass and any member of the Jets who is on the field of play to catch it, and I think that's not too much to ask.
Jets interception.
They'll break into coverage.
This'll be like when, when Bonds passed Hank Aaron.
Like, they, they will scrap all programming.
Can you imagine Scott Hanson when the Jets get an interception?
I'll be cheering with them.
Joy for everybody.
Let's just take care of it week one and end the streak.
It's not too much, right?
It has happened, folks.
70 weeks ago was the last time, and now here we are.
Yes.
Kyle, do we, do we see, like, a, you should grow, like, a mustache until the Jets, you know, get an interception or something.
You should do the facial hair bit again.
Uh-oh.
Uh-oh.
Yeah, 'cause then I'm gonna be looking like a Odysseus by the end of the season- with this long gray beard.
I'm not putting my, my face in their hands.
This is the money maker for this show, guys.
Come on.
Looking like Gandalf.
You shall not pass.
Yeah.
You shall pass!
