You didn't recruit Caitlin Clark because you had already committed to Paige and you already had believed in her.
I don't wanna say necessarily you thought Paige was better than Caitlin, but you had Paige.
You weren't going to- Yeah renege on that and, and- Yeah try to recruit Caitlin.
No.
Even though Caitlin was publicly said she was kind of hurt by it.
My thing is you should have picked up the phone and called me and said, "Coach, I wanna come to Connecticut."
Yeah.
I don't, I don't think that was ever the case, to be honest with you.
Everybody wants to be recruited by Connecticut.
Like, who wouldn't?
Who wouldn't be able to sit there and go, "Hey, Mom, guess what?
I just got offered a scholarship from UConn," or any of the other big schools in, in the country.
When I saw Paige play, the commitment to Paige was very early.
And if I didn't think we could get Paige, who knows what would've happened?
Who knows w- who, who we may have recruited, who we may have gotten, but I knew we were gonna get Paige, and I also knew that that's not gonna work, the two of them together for four years in college.
So no disrespect to anybody.
We got what we wanted, we got what we needed, and the rest is history
