Why Korda ditched her custom LeBron Nikes mid-round at USWO
Nelly Korda started her first round at the U.S. Women's Open wearing custom LeBron Nike shoes. She changed them out on the 16th tee at Riviera. Amy Rogers explains why.

Now, interestingly, earlier today on the 16th tee, we saw her switch out her shoes.
She was making some adjustments, something we haven't seen her do on the course before.
So the question is why?
What was going on?
Well, I'm pleased to say we have got Amy Rogers standing by, who has managed to get some scoop on the reason why Nelly did make these adjustments.
Amy, what can you tell us?
Hey there, Anna.
Yeah, it's been an interesting start to the day for Nelly Korda.
Yeah.
She was overheard at the 13th hole speaking with her caddy, Jason McDee, that she was having some issues with her swing.
Well, at the next hole, the 14th, we saw her caddy, Jason McDee, point to Nelly Korda's trainer, who was walking outside the ropes, and pointed and said, "Shoes."
Well, obviously we saw what happened.
Two holes later, Nelly Korda's trainer, Kim, returned with the shoes that were in the locker room.
So these shoes got a lot of attention that she had on to start her day.
These shoes, that she wore to begin her round were gifted to her, as she posted on social media, from LeBron James.
So she started out her day in these shoes.
I learned that they were simply a little too loose, and so that was the reason, that Korda sent her trainer in to get another pair of shoes.
There you see the image of Korda wearing those shoes earlier today.
And so she switched into a pair, that she had that was different, a little bit more comfortable, a little bit more f- of a fit that she was used to.
That she's just a little bit picky about how her shoes fit, and she's hoping that these will be, a little bit more comfortable for her as she continues, the rest of her first round here, Anna.
So it's been an interesting start to the day for Nelly Korda.
