Why Stefon Diggs is 'icing on the cake' for Commanders WR corp
Scott Jackson makes the case that Washington has a surprisingly deep wide receiver room, and argues that Stefon Diggs is an upgrade that enhances the entire group and can help mask the offensive line's deficiencies.

Look, I like the pass catchers.
You know, it's funny, people are really bullish on the Green Bay Packers.
I was hearing a segment earlier today on a national radio show talking about Jordan Love for MVP.
Can you name the Packers number one receiver?
Yeah, well- I mean, do they have one?
They, do they have one?
I know, I know this much.
I can say- Yeah Christian Watson because I just did a fantasy mock draft.
Right And he was sitting there.
But is he really number one though?
I mean, has he ever, has he ever played like a number one?
Tucker Kraft.
None of them have actually Right.
None of them have played like number ones.
And here we- Yeah we were like a month and a half ago, people were losing their mind wanting to bring in, you know, a guy from the psych ward, to be the number two receiver here.
And, you know, meanwhile, this, this team's got a deep group of receivers.
I mean, all these guys have made plays in the preseason, right?
Yeah.
Williams made a great catch last week.
I mean, Jalen, Jalen Journal Lane has caught everything thrown his way.
I mean, there's been some really good stuff from these wide receivers.
Yeah.
And obviously bringing Diggs is just the icing on the cake.
So I mean, this is a deep group, and I don't know, again, how they're gonna cut it.
Is it gonna be seven?
Is it gonna be eight?
Is it gonna be six?
It's gonna be a tough cut.
They're gonna put some really good players in the street, and they're gonna be holding their breath trying to get some guys back into the practice squad at that position.
Yeah.
So I feel good about what they did there, this off season, and it's just funny 'cause, you know, our perception was so everybody was losing their mind over the number two wide receiver.
Yeah.
And in reality, you know, they've got a really deep group, and yeah, Stefon Diggs is definitely an upgrade from what they had, and I think it helps a lot.
It enhances a lot of the things that they have too.
So I, I'm excited about that group.
