Team should be better on paper.
What do you see the role specifically, like, what is, what is the ceiling for, for Von Miller defensively when it comes to this Cowboys team?
I think the ceiling is kind of, is like, Von is, is, he's a hired ha- he's a hired assassin, to use that word in, in a, in a light-hearted, conversation.
He is a hired- Mercenary.
Yeah.
He, he's a hired gun.
He's gonna come in, like he did last year for the Commanders, and, and be, rushing the passer.
But what I think Von gives you more than anything is, and, and shout out to BT Jordan.
I'm, nothing against BT Jordan, what his ability to kind of teach the, you know, the pass rushing moves and all that kind of stuff.
He ain't Von Miller.
He ain't Von Miller.
So, nothing against He ain't Von Miller.
So- And you know, I, I don't think he would take that as disrespect.
Right.
Like- He would not.
Yeah.
Like, you can, you can, you can do all your pad work and all that kind of stuff, but you're talking about a guy who's going to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer grabbing Ezra Roku, grabbing James Houston, grabbing Rashawn Gary, grabbing, Maris Liefeld, grabbing Overshaw, and now sitting in the room with him and him imparting that knowledge on them every single day, not only in word, not only in film, but also in, in person on the field.
I think that's one of the greatest values that he brings to this thing of really put- oh, I, I almost forgot, Malachi Lawrence as well, a guy who could probably use that level of mentorship from Von Miller.
That's the Cowboys first round, other first round pick.
And, and he's kind of had his, his rush struggles, a little bit.
But again, Von Miller, my, my I don't have My expectations for Von, and if you're a Cowboy fan and you, you think Von has come in to be a savior, then you've sadly mistaken what Von Miller has been brought here for.
And I think you are setting yourself up for a major lot of disappointment.
I think Von has come here to be a contributor, right?
And I, and I think it, it is very specific.
They're not asking Von to stop the run.
They're not asking Von to drop into coverage.
It is going to be in those moments in time of the game, you know, he gonna be on a leash, and when they go take that leash off and go sick them, that's what they're looking for, to Von to, to do.
And, and, and, and if he can do that, at a relatively successful rate, I mean, you look at what he did last year in the games that he's played, it's, it's a half a sack a game.
So it, that, they're gonna be looking for Von to be anywhere from six to eight sacks, a game.
He said he can roll out of bed and still get eight- Roll out of- yeah eight sacks.
So- Get eight last night in his sleep.
So yeah.
Yeah.
Well, hey, my brother, wake up.
We need eight.
We need eight.
Alarm's going off
