Wild Could Dangle Wallstedt To Swing Big For An Upgrade Elsewhere
The Minnesota Wild likely aren't done upgrading their roster after acquiring Quinn Hughes in December. That's led to speculation about whether they need to trade their young backup goalie to do so.

Seems like he's coming into his own.
He's got a .924 save percentage.
Devin, you are in Minnesota.
Your thoughts on Jesper Wallstedt and his development so far?
Well, yeah, it has been a little bumpy, not necessarily for him.
Just in trying to figure out and navigate how they want to develop him.
And last year was a little, little bit of a mess with, with Fleury being there, and, you know, he was up for a little bit and not playing and all that.
So, nice that he's got the path.
He got to come into this season, knowing that was his spot, and get ready for the year, knowing he was the number two goalie behind Gustavsson.
And now he's just- he's getting better.
Each time he's out there.
This is, this is now his time.
He's a full-time NHL goaltender.
It's his time to experience these things, go through these games.
Go through a full season, playing more, and if he keeps playing like this, I think that, you know, Gustavsson's a great goalie, too.
This is not changing anything.
But he can, he can earn more starts.
There's no reason, you know, it's beneficial for the team to limit the.
The, your starting goaltender to, you know, as few games as you can while still having him be sharp and be playing.
If you've got a guy who not only is winning games for you, but this is a prospect in your pipeline who can eventually be.
Be your guy, you know, I think it's, I think it's important to, to continue to give him games if he keeps giving you, efforts like this.
And I like the way he plays.
I, I think it's nice to see a guy who's not super technical.
Robot-wise.
Obviously, he's, he's great, he's technically Fine, but...
I like he breaks out of it a little bit.
He looks like he's playing goal, he looks like he's playing the game.
And not just, you know, push, stop, set, everything's the exact same thing.
He's, he's fun to watch that way, and exciting things for the Wild if he can keep it up.
