Familiar faces on that Dolphins team, but also a ton of unknowns when we're talking about this roster, what exactly the scheme is going to look like, though again, there's some familiarity there.
From what you've seen, what you've heard, what are we looking at with this new Dolphins offense?
Yeah, completely different than anything you remember about the Dolphins, a team that was built on speed is now hoping to be built on physicality and toughness.
And look, they've got a journey to go at practice today, we're able to see some of the highlights, some of the potential of the offense.
Malik Willis hit a 40 yard deep pass down the field where you really could see his arm strength fly out and you could see why Jeff Halfley and John Eric Sullivan really wanted to commit to him 45 million guaranteed over the next two years.
Talking with players over the last couple of months within the team, they all talk about he can rip it in reference to Malik Willis, his arm strength, and what he can do, but on the other side of it, it's been a work in progress with this chemistry with this unproven receiver room.
Some days in practice just haven't been as smooth.
Malik Willis talked to me after practice and said, I really have talked to the team about not being frustrated with the up and down nature of progress that's going to happen within.
New system that's been the way he's leading is trying to keep the guys together and days like today are highlights of what could potentially happen.
Of course soon he'll get his top weapon Devona Achan out.
He's missed most of the spring, uh, kind of maintenance as he recovers from a cleanup shoulder surgery.
I watched him catching, uh, running today and taking handoffs.
He looks like he's going to be ready to go for training camp, and the hope is that Malik Willis in this new offense can eventually prove that he's the long term answer.
