One of the great things about the World Cup is a lot of the matches are during the day, and June 15th at 3:00 PM Eastern, we're gonna get a dose of that as Belgium takes on Egypt.
I know nothing of Egypt here other than they're one of the bigger dogs going into the first round here, and certainly with a total of two and a half and Belgium being favored here, it tells me Belgium's got a great shot to win this one.
But why is Egypt such a big dog here, Kyle?
Yeah.
So this is a fun game mostly because you've got two aging former Premier League stars playing against one another.
Kevin De Bruyne, who played for years at Manchester City and is one of the best players to ever play in the Premier League, and Mohamed Salah, who left Liverpool after his last season this year, and is one of the best players ever to play in the Premier League.
So they'll go up against one another.
Belgium are a weird team, Craig.
They made-- They, finished third in 2018 with a golden generation of talent.
They had a ton of players up and coming.
That was like Kevin De Bruyne's breakout year eight years ago, on the international stage.
And then they completely flopped in 2022 and, and dropped out in the group stage.
Egypt are a really well put together team, kind of like Japan, but in kind of the opposite sense.
J- Japan can really get after you on the counter.
Egypt defend very well, and then they've got a superstar in Salah, in the attack.
So you've really got strength versus strength.
Belgium attack, attack, attack.
Egypt defend, defend, defend.
I think it'll be a really interesting kind of throwback game, but I think Belgium should win.
