Yankees vs. Rays: A Close American League East Title Race
The New York Yankees, trailing the Tampa Bay Rays by three in the AL East, face a softer schedule. With key players returning, their odds are improving.

And are you sold that Tampa is just going to, Tampa's gonna be the American League East champion when it's all said and done?
I wanna say yes, but I'm also- I mean, yeah looking at, you know, the schedule and where things sit.
And it's not as if the Yankees, who are three games back, are You know, they're playing great baseball for the most part.
Their pitching staff is unbelievable.
You know, theoretically, they should be getting healthier.
Judge is gonna be coming back into the lineup.
We know they got Bellinger back.
We can kind of cross off Stanton at this point.
But the Yankees end the season with some pretty winnable series, and I don't think we are I think we're gonna be within two or three games from now until the end.
And the way the Rays ended compared to where the Yankees ended, it's gonna be up for grabs, I think, until the final week.
Yeah, 'cause this, they do have to play everyone that would be chasing them, right?
So they, they control their destiny, Tom, I think is fair to say.
Mm-hmm.
But at minus 200, I, uh- You can't bet that to me, I wouldn't be laying that.
I think that's- No more from a minus 200, you know, foregone- Yeah conclusion here, no?

From, essentially from the, let's You know, September 1st, after we get through these next few series, the Yankees have the Angels, San Diego, Colorado, the Mets, the Twins- Oh the Diamondbacks, then the Rays and the Orioles.
So the last seven aren't great, but you're running through a stretch of, of Colorado, New York, all, both series at home, and then at Minnesota.
Like, that's a pretty solid 10, 11 game stretch.
If they could pick up eight of those wins.
And it's not as if the Rays aren't, aren't gonna be playing with the Blue Jays who are hunting things down, the Red Sox.
It's not, it's gonna be closer than those minus 200 odds suggest.

I, I think the, at right now, the Yankees, yeah, I think they're worth a shot because we know second to last series against, Tampa Bay, right?
Mm-hmm.
And I believe that's in the Bronx.
Um- And I- Yeah.
It's at, the Rays are at- Is it in?
New York.
And yeah, it's at New York.
But outside of that, right before that, they play versus Boston, and then the Rays end the series at Philly.
And Philly's chasing down the Rays.
At Philly.
So it's not like, oh, there's gonna be some- That's correct you know, cakewalk series.
They have nine or they have 10 straight games against all playoff-bound teams.
Yep.

A- and I do believe the Yankees either are tied or have a slight edge on the season series for the tiebreaker.
So, you know, only three games back with this many games to go, and you bringing them into your house, to finish the season, might be worth a look here.
