So I'm gonna torture New York Jet fans here.
Is there any hope whatsoever in New York with the Jets to be decent in 2026?
They don't wanna be decent.
This is a mistake by the Jets.
I mean, but Dan, Geno Smith, who's really an average quarterback, but he might win you enough games to get to six or seven wins, and then you're not getting that top quarterback next year, or you gotta spend a lot of draft capital to move up, you know, and get the, t- first overall pick, second overall pick, whatever it might be, in a quarterback-heavy draft year.
I think if I were the Jets, and I understand this is one thing, we always forget about real life.
Aaron Glenn knows, hey, if I don't win games, I don't have to worry about next year.
I'm not gonna be here.
GM may have the same problem here, so they need to win games, but that's, it's sort of detrimental to their long-term future there.
I think the Jets are once again an interesting team.
I wouldn't say they're on the right path because unless you have a quarterback, you're not on the right path.
All right?
That's just the way it is in the NFL.
So they don't have that, but I think they might win too many games.
Once again, six, seven is too many.
They need to win three, four and get a top five pick, get your quarterback, and go from there.
But I think they've got too much talent where they actually might win more.
Hell, they'll beat Miami twice.
So you would tank for Arch?
I, I'm a b- listen, we're the, I'm the Cowboy fan, right?
What's been the Cowboys problem for too many years?
Too many eight and eight seasons where you're right in the middle.
That's right.
You, in the NFL- That's right you either need to suck or you need to compete- That's right for that trophy.
That's right.
Right.
You can't be in the middle.
So yes.
Right.
I, if I'm the G- and that's the co- I, I'll say this, players don't tank.
All right?
So don't, don't get me wrong.
Coaches for the most part don't tank 'cause that's wh- that's their record, right?
That's what we're all looking at here.
But GMs can tank.
"Oh yeah, I'm not gonna get you that player you need here.
No, 'cause I wanna get the three wins or two wins.
I don't wanna win games."
You know, I understand it hurts, the fans hate that, and I get that.
But no one wants to watch it.
Listen, I had mentioned my fantasy.
Why did I start playing fantasy football in 1988?
Because the Cowboys were God awful, and I needed a reason, another reason to watch football games, all right?
And my buddy who's a Jet fan, same thing.
Cowboys and Jets are terrible.
We started playing fantasy.
It's sort of the same thing for, NFL GMs here.
You have to know, hey, we may have to eat it for a couple of years so that we can build up, get those top picks, and get better that way.
If you, if you, unless you're gonna spend a gazillion dollars, it's the only way to really get good in the NFL, especially consistently good, is to get those low picks.
