Deadlock Rem Quick Ability Guide

Deadlock 's Old Gods, New Blood update introduced six new heroes whose release date is decided by an in-game community vote. Rem is the first of these six to be made playable and he's been out for almost a week now. He's a tiny, pajama-wearing creature that has sleep-related abilities . Since his release, I've gotten to play as, with, and against Rem. This article will be a quick guide intended to help you get a quick idea on how to use Rem's abilities. Furthermore, this guide is made with the intention of playing Rem as a support, which I feel is his strongest role.

Overview

Rem is the latest playable support hero in Deadlock. He has sleep-related abilities that lets sustain his teammates, disrupt enemies, and influence the map. The following are some of Rem's pros and cons based on my experience playing them.

Abilities

Valve

I recommend the following ability order when playing as Rem. Ideally, you'll want to max out Rem's second ability, Naptime, first. This ability is Rem's way of sustaining his team, providing an initial heal that gets stronger the lower your teammate's health is. Putting points into this ability also increases the effectiveness of your items while you're attached to a teammate. Another thing you need to take note of when using this ability is that enemy ultimate crowd control can knock you off your attached ally. You should be careful if there's an enemy like Dynamo who can leave you vulnerable if you're caught in his ultimate while you're attached.

Afterwards, I recommend maxing out Rem's third ability, Lil Helpers next. This is the ability that you use to influence the map even if you necessarily aren't in a certain lane. You can use this ability to safely farm Sinner's Sacrifices or make your troopers stronger. While Rem is easy to pick up, the difficulty with playing him is deciding the optimal way to use this ability. Maximizing the usage of Rem's Lil Helpers is the key to properly influencing the rest of the map.

Generally, you'll only need to upgrade your first skill, Pillow Toss, once. The first upgrade is to reduce its cooldown as this will be your primary method of peeling for yourself or for your teammates.

Finally, your ultimate is a powerful engage tool because you can use it to engage through walls. This is great for engaging onto the enemy team while they're doing the Mid-Boss. This ability slows enemies and prevents them from using their movement abilities, so it's useful for catching out some of the more mobile enemies in the game.

This wraps up this quick guide on how to use Rem's abilities. Hopefully this helps you get some understanding on how to play Rem.
