Country music star cancels tour dates after assault outside of hotel

Singer-songwriter Todd Snider is canceling his tour after sustaining severe injuries due to an assault, his record label announced .

"We are heartbroken to announce the cancellation of the High, Lonesome and Then Some 2025 Tour Dates," a statement from Aimless Inc. reads. "Ahead of Todd Snider's show in Salt Lake City, Todd sustained severe injuries as the victim of a violent assault outside of his hotel."

"Todd will be unable to perform for an undetermined amount of time," the statement continues. "We deeply apologize for the cancellation and any inconvenience it causes. We appreciate your understanding as Todd receives needed medical treatment. We hope to have more information on new dates soon."

The record label did not share any further details.

In the wake of the assault, Snider was arrested in connection with a disturbance at the local hospital, though he has since been released and formal charges have not been filed against him, according to Fox 13 Salt Lake City .

Snider released his newest album, "High, Lonesome and Then Some," last month and embarked on the tour promoting the album Thursday.
