Pickerington-born rock star Spencer Sutherland will visit his old stomping grounds Thursday, when he performs at The Bluestone. Sutherland is a 2011 graduate of Pickerington High School North.

If you've ever wanted to meet an Ohio State football player, Saturday is your chance. Jack Sawyer and several teammates will hold autograph and photo sessions at Wilder Side of Sports.

Also on Saturday, impractical joker Sal Vulcano will yuk it up with the crowd at Mershon Auditorium.

Short North Stage to continue 'A Chorus Line' run

Short North Stage will present the singular sensation "A Chorus Line" for the next three weeks on the Garden Theatre MainStage, 1187 N. High St.

Capturing the spirit and tension of a Broadway ensemble audition, the show features memorable musical numbers by Marvin Hamlisch including "What I Did for Love, "One," "I Can Do That" and "I Hope I Get It."

Performances are at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and April 3-4, April 10-11, April 16-18; 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and April 5, April 12-13, April 19; and 2 p.m. April 6.

Native son Spencer Sutherland to play at The Bluestone

Long gone are the days of opening for boy bands as Pickerington native Spencer Sutherland takes his act on the road as headliner of "The Drama" tour, coming Thursday to The Bluestone, 583 E. Broad St. Doors open at 7 p.m.

The singer-actor's slew of singles includes "Selfish," "Wonder" and "Chicken Little" featuring Meghan Trainor. He released his sophomore album, "The Drama," a modern rock opera, last year.

Rising folk-Americana-pop artist Cloe Wilder will be the supporting act.

Matt Mathews to work crowd at interactive comedy show

Matt Mathews, who has skyrocketed from social-media sensation to rising comedy star in the last year, will offer situational humor when his "Boujee on a Budget" tour stops at Mershon Auditorium, 1871 N. High St., at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Mathews will touch on various topics including his daily life living on a farm, his career as a boudoir photographer and more. "Confessions with Matt" will give fans a chance to spill their darkest secrets, with the comedian offering his witty take.

OSU football players to touch down for meet and greet

Still riding the high on winning the national championship, players from the Ohio State football team will hold a meet and greet from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Wilder Side of Sports, 1540 Polaris Pkwy.

Players will include Jack Sawyer , Will Howard, Quinshon Judkins, Cody Simon, Caleb Downs, Lathan Ransom, Jordan Hancock, Donovan Jackson, Josh Fryar, Joe McGuire, Ty Hamilton, Jermaine Mathews Jr., Gee Scott Jr., Carnell Tate, Jay Fielding and Denzel Burke.

Comedian Sal Vulcano to unveil new material at Mershon

Comedian Sal Vulcano, who got a tattoo of Jaden Smith as punishment on the hidden-camera series "Impractical Jokers," will share all-new material at Mershon Auditorium, 1871 N. High St., at 7 p.m. Saturday .

Vulcano also has appeared in films such as "Clerks III" and on TV shows including "Bones," "12 Monkeys," "MacGyver" and "What We Do in the Shadows."

Deftones to stop North American tour at Nationwide

Experimental alternative rockers the Deftones, whose songs include "Change (In the House of Flies)" and the Grammy-winning track "Elite," will perform at Nationwide Arena, 200 W. Nationwide Blvd., at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Though they've since broadened their sound, the band is considered an important part of the '90s nu-metal movement. The Mars Volta and Fleshwater will open for Deftones.

Quintet to perform works by Franck and Prokofiev

Sunday at Central artistic director Jeffrey Myers will join several noted Columbus musicians to play César Franck's "Piano Quintet" and Sergei Prokofiev's "Overture on Hebrew Themes" at 3 p.m. Sunday at Broad Street Presbyterian Church, 760 E. Broad St.

The performance is recommended for ages 9 and older. Seating is first-come, first-served and free parking is available.

Author-educator Lee Martin to introduce latest book

Join author Lee Martin at Gramercy Books, 2424 E. Main St., Bexley, at 7 p.m. Monday for the release of "The Evening Shades," the follow-up to his Pulitzer Prize finalist, "The Bright Forever."

Martin, who teaches in the MFA program at Ohio State, will be in conversation with fellow author Nick White, associate professor of English at Ohio State.

Righteous Brothers to bring back that lovin' feelin'

With hits spanning four decades, The Righteous Brothers — Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield — were pioneers of blue-eyed soul. The duo was so popular that after Hatfield's death, Medley continued to perform to sold-out crowds around the world.

The pair, now made up of Medley and Bucky Heard, will come to the Palace Theatre, 34 W. Broad St., at 7:30 p.m. April 2 for an evening of classics such as "You've Lost that Lovin' Feelin'," "Unchained Melody," "(You're My) Soul and Inspiration" and "Rock and Roll Heaven."

Mary J. Blige to serve up hip-hop soul for the fans

There's no need for "hateration" or "holleration" in the "dancery" that Mary J. Blige will turn Nationwide Arena, 200 W. Nationwide Blvd., into when she performs April 2. The concert starts at 7 p.m. with supporting acts Ne-Yo and Mario.

Currently on her "For My Fans" tour, "the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul" has had 42 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, making her one of the best-performing artists to date on the chart. Hits include "Family Affair," "Real Love" and "Be Without You."
