Mass. campsite among 50 best places to camp in the country
A Massachusetts location is one of the best places in the country to set up your campsite, as it was named on Hipcamp's top 50 list .
The website, which books outdoor stays, released its list of 50 favorite places to camp in America right now .
Salamander Hollow Healing Habitat in Warwick landed itself on the overall list.
It stands among two other New England locations — Sacred Heart Nectar Sanctuary in North Sandwich, New Hampshire and Green Mountain Trails in Pittsfield, Vermont.
Hipcamp analyzed data for more than 500,000 campsites in every state and narrowed down spots across private land, public parks and RV parks, the website said.
The list was finalized based on a variety of criteria like positive camper reviews and ratings, regional trends, cultural shifts and editorial debate.
Hipcamp described Salamander Hollow Healing Habitat as "not your typical campground."
There are 17 acres of the property with woodstove-heated cabins, Sioux-style tipis and tiny houses with an infrared sauna. There's also a pizza oven to gather around, bookshelves to check out and a Slovenian beehive cabin that doubles as a wellness space.
"This visit was beyond what we could have expected, even based on the wonderful views," a review of Salamander Hollow Healing Habitat on Hipcamp wrote .
