Taco Bell Testing Several New Items and Fans 'Want 10 of Them'
- Taco Bell is testing new menu items including a Crispalupa, Cantina Chicken Crunchy Tacos, and a Flamin' Hot Burrito in select markets.
Taco Bell is testing several new menu additions this spring that have fans yelling, 'Gimme!"
The Mexican-inspired fast food chain regularly tests new items before officially deciding whether or not the options make the cut for its nationwide menus. It was only last month that Taco Bell revealed it would be testing a New Pumpkin Spice Empanada , a Salted Caramel & Toffee Cream Empanada Bite and a Ube Strawberry Cookie.
But now, we're learning it's launching a handful of new could-be entrées to test in select markets, one of which is a "fire" collaboration between Taco Bell and Flamin' Hot Fritos .
Leaked intel from the eatery's newsletter revealed that the restaurant chain has begun testing a Crispalupa, Cantina Chicken Crunchy Tacos as well as a Flamin' Hot Burrito.
The Crispalupa is described as "a perfectly stuffed pocket" featuring Cantina slow-roasted chicken, crisp lettuce, freshly prepared pico de gallo, spicy ranch sauce and shredded cheddar cheese. It's said to be available for $3.49-$4.49 depending on location. It's currently being tested at participating restaurants in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Flamin' Hot Burrito is said to be "a fiery new twist " to the fan-favorite Beefy Crunch Burrito, pairing Flamin' Hot Fritos with its signature seasoned beef, sour cream, nacho cheese sauce and its all-new Flamin' Hot® Rice. It's available at participating locations in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, for just $2 for a limited time.
Rounding out the trio of newcomers is an update to its classic taco, which is actually available in two builds (one of which includes purple cabbage while the other dresses the dish up with pico de gallo) and see a corn shell stuffed with slow-roasted chicken, Taco Bell's Spicy Ranch Sauce, lettuce, and cheddar cheese. The Cantina Crunchy Chicken tacos are currently testing at select Minneapolis, Minnesota, locations.
Fans appear to be counting down the days until this releases nationally, as one claimed the promotional images left them "wanting ten of them."
Another applaudedhow "everything in this one looks delicious 😋."
"Literally all I need is that flaming hot burrito," a second confessed.
"I have tried the crispalupa it's pretty good," someone else admitted. "I love the crispy edges and they used the slow roasted chicken instead of ground beef."
"Gimme the crisplupa miss me with everything else," one more joked.
Those who live in or around a test market have until Wednesday, April 23 to test it, according to the insider's post.
