BUFFALO, N.Y. — Bruins coach Marco Sturm made official what he'd been leaning toward all week.

James Hagens will play in Game 1 of Boston's first-round series against the Sabres in Buffalo. The teams face off at 7:30 p.m. at KeyBank Arena on Sunday.

"For today I just grabbed James and reminded him that nothing changes," Sturm said. "Maybe the noise a little bit here in Buffalo, but other than that. ... Kids have to go through a couple of shifts to get things going."

The Bruins aren't making any changes to their lineup from the last game of the regular season.

Five Bruins will be making their postseason debuts. In addition to Hagens, Mark Kastelic, Fraser Minten, Marat Khustnutdinov and Jonathan Aspirot will all be part of the Stanley Cup playoffs for the first time. All five led the stretch at morning skate.

It will be Sturm's first game in the playoffs as a head coach as well.

As expected Jeremy Swayman will start in goal. Simon Jajicek is with the team from Providence as the No. 3 emergency goalie.

If the Bruins needed another goalie to actually play Michael DiPietro would likely be called up. But with the P-Bruins preparing for the AHL playoffs, DiPietro remained in Rhode Island where he's the No. 1 goalie.

Jajicek is with the team in the rare instance that two goalies get hurt in the same game.
