The holiday season is almost here, and with Autumn fully underway , many folks are preparing for the busiest time of year.

But with Thanksgiving getting closer , there's more to prepare for than a feast — especially if you're the one commuting .

The Old Farmer's Almanac has released its forecast for Thanksgiving 2025, which falls on Nov. 27.

"Thanksgiving week 2025 brings a patchwork of weather across the U.S., with sunshine in much of the East and rainy conditions in the West," The Almanac predicts.

"Snow is limited to a few northern spots — northern New England, the Upper Midwest, the higher elevations in the Intermountain West, and Alaska — where flurries could affect travel."

Much of New England will see "cooler-than-normal conditions" this Thanksgiving.

To put it into perspective, Accuweather reports Thanksgiving 2024 of having a high of 48 degrees in Boston.

Though The Farmer's Almanac does not show any signs of heavy rain over Massachusetts for Thanksgiving 2025, MassLive reported parts of Massachusetts as seeing as much as 5 inches of snowfall in some areas "as a storm drenched the rest of the state with rain," on Thanksgiving 2024.

As for this year, The Farmer's Almanac says "temperatures vary widely," across the country — with the warmest air lingering over Texas, the Desert Southwest, and the Deep South.

For the Northeast Region of the country, The Almanac suggests bundling up this Thanksgiving.
