Recall: USDA issues health alert for Massachusetts beef tips
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service issued a public health alert Wednesday for Bianco & Sons beef tips sold in Massachusetts due to undeclared allergens and misbranding.
The affected products are 1-pound vacuum-packed packages of "Sweet Heat Sirloin Beef Tips" produced on September 2, 2025, containing undeclared sesame and wheat. The packages, marked with establishment number "EST. 4033" inside the USDA inspection mark, display a "USE OR FREEZE BY: 10/01/2025" date.
The labeling issue was discovered when a retailer found packages with correct front labels but incorrect back labels meant for "Garlic and Ginger Sirloin Beef Tips." The products were distributed exclusively to Roche Bros. Supermarkets locations in Massachusetts.
While FSIS has not issued a recall since the products are no longer available for purchase, consumers may still have the affected packages in their freezers. The agency advises anyone who purchased these beef tips to either discard them or return them to the store.
No adverse reactions related to consumption of these products have been reported. Consumers with health concerns should contact their healthcare provider.
