Dean’s Message
I am delighted to welcome you to the College of Dentistry at Gulf Medical University. The college has been established in 2008. It offers an undergraduate competency based dental program Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), one-year dental internship program and two postgraduate master programs in periodontology and endodontics. The Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program has been granted a full accreditation in 2018 by the Ministry of Education at UAE. The program structure follows the Australian Dental Council (ADC) standards for dental practitioners.
The college is committed to promote excellence in dental education to graduate well trained dentists that meet the future needs of the nation and the region. The program considers the student as the center of the educational process, as the main role of our well-trained faculty members is to strengthen the student capacity to collaborate, lead, analyze, and think critically to solve patients’ problems.
The college is supported by a state of art dental hospital facility that hosts the clinical training of our students. Furthermore, the college has a strong link and engagement with international academic institutes and local community to ensure an immediate response to the fast-ongoing changes in the field of dentistry and dental education.
I believe that the College of Dentistry in a short span has managed to provide not only quality in dental education but also has addressed and developed a center for research, professional development and healthcare services.
